FRIDAY, MAY 24: LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!
Our Last day of school will be Friday, May 24th.
This day will be an early dismissal day at 12:36 PM.
ACCESS YOUR CHILDREN'S STAAR SCORES THIS SUMMER
On June 12th, parents can access their child’s STAAR results and a suite of other resources to support summer learning at home by visiting TexasAssessment.gov. Your district will also receive paper copies of the STAAR Report Card (SRC) to distribute to parents over the summer. For information on how teachers can access these results, check out our website to learn more about the STAAR educator portal.
We’re asking each school district to take the following three steps to help parents access these resources:
- Distribute the "Log In & Learn More" flyer to parents in your district. Please use the method your district typically uses to share information with parents (direct mail, email, send home with students, etc.). The flyer explains the steps parents must take to access their child’s STAAR results at TexasAssessment.gov. We’d like your district to share the flyer as soon as possible but no later than June 12th.
- Securely distribute Unique Access Codes to parents. Parents need a Unique Access Code to log in to TexasAssessment.gov. These are unique IDs and should not be sent home in backpacks. Please use a secure method for distributing them. We’d like your district to share the Unique Access Codes with parents as soon as possible but no later than June 12th.
- Distribute the STAAR Report Card. When your district receives the paper copies of the STAAR Report Card in June, quickly distribute them to parents. You may distribute the reports via mail, parent email, portal, or any method you typically use to communicate with parents over the summer.
To assist your school in this effort, we’ve attached an FAQ document providing additional context about this effort.
Your partnership in this work is critical to our goal of strengthening parent engagement and parent-teacher partnerships. In addition to performance and growth results, TexasAssessment.gov provides a collection of resources for parents, including the actual questions from the test, more information about the STAAR, a Find a Book Tool to help students build a summer reading list, and additional math and reading tips.
We believe all parents should take advantage of these resources, and we appreciate your help in providing them with the information to do so. Thank you for your continued support of Texas parents and students.
