How to Troubleshoot Outlook Connectivity Problem?
Sometimes a simple thing can throw off the outlook. If you are facing difficulties while connecting your outlook to the server, then there is a chance that it is running in the offline mode. So, all you have to do is unlock the offline mode. If it still doesn’t resolve the issue then there are two ways to fix the issue depending on outlook version on your desktop;
If you are currently using the Outlook 2007 or the earlier version then, you need to follow the below steps:
Step 1: Go to the File.
Step 2: Find out if there a check mark near the work offline.
Step 3: Uncheck it to resolve the issue.
In case, if you are using Outlook 2010 or the latest window 10 version then, you need to follow the below steps:
Step 1: Click on the send or receive the tab.
Step 2: Find the offline button.
Step 3: Click on offline.
Now check the below message on the outlook window. It should say “trying to connect”. Once the connection is established, check if the connectivity issue is resolved. In case if it still there then moves to the next tip.
Rebuild the Data File:
If you are working on the outlook for a long time now then, you may know that it uses two types of files; .ost and .pst. As both files are susceptible, the error can be caused by any of them. Here is how you can handle them:
Step 1: Close your outlook.
Step 2: Go to the control panel
Step 3: Search for the mail icon
Step 4: in the result window locate the data files.
Step 5: Select your data file (.pst or .ost) and click on the open file location.
Step 6: Locate the data file in the question.
Step 7: If the file on the list has the extension .ost then, rename it as .OLD if the file has extension .pst then do anything.
