Hello Quantum Families,

We celebrated the Great Kindness Challenge last week with spirit days and special activities. It was a great reminder for all of us about the power of our words and actions towards others and how kindness relates to our Quantum values of lead with empathy and impact the community. Even just a simple smile, compliment, or invite can change the course of someone's day for the better! Keep showing kindness at school and at home to make the world a better place!

We have lots of exciting events this week at Quantum as our Interfaith Service Project continues and culminates with students making 300 sack lunches to donate to those in need. We need your help to collect the items for the lunches! Sign up to bring perishables and non-perishables. Thanks for making this impact the community project possible for students!

Wednesday, February 5th, at 8:30 am is our final Create with the Principal event for the year! We’ll be using our creativity to create a piece of art in honor of Black History Month and discussing what’s on your mind. Come to create and build relationships with other families!

Friday is our Genius Hour Showcase for Trimester 2 and students have been working hard on their passion projects and our Asking Questions, Seeking Answers value. Students spend half of the time showing their projects and half the time visiting other projects. We encourage families to attend at least one Genius Hour Showcase per year.

We are getting ready to start ELOP classes next week. We have a few open spots in a couple of classes: Kindness Club, Girls Weightlifting, Boys Weightlifting, and Leadership. Use the After School Enrichment Class Google Form to sign up!

Students must have a signed permission slip in order to attend class. If students do not have a signed permission slip by the start of class they will be dropped and another student from the waitlist will be enrolled.

In response to valuable feedback from parents and as part of our ongoing commitment to student well-being, we will be implementing a change to student iPads. Starting February 3, internet access on these devices will be restricted between the hours of 9 PM and 5 AM. This change is designed to help reduce screen time, encourage healthy rest habits, and ensure our students are ready for the next day of learning. At the same time, we remain committed to the importance of students having access to digital learning platforms that support their education during the day.

As a reminder, phones are not allowed during the day. If students do have a cell phone, they need to be turned off and stored in your child's backpack while they are at school. If a student does have their phone out, a staff member may take it for the remainder of the day. If you have a message for your child, please call the front office so we can relay the message to the teacher.
