A Note From Your Principals
Happy Last Newsletter of 2024!
We look forward to seeing our Spartan Stars return fresh-faced from winter break to start the new year off right! Families, you know the drill - time to start weaning back into a school routine. Keep the balance of downtime and fun, along with getting closer to school-day wakeups/bedtimes and the daily routine of reading books somewhere in there. We hope you all have had some good time warm at home with your children, and we're excited to see what 2025 has to bring for us - there will be lots of learning and fun, for sure!
Greg Nelson, CEPS Principal
Brooke Hauser, CEPS/WIS Associate Principal

Notes & Updates
IMPORTANT, Please Read: Safety Updates @ CEPS
Safety first: let's face it, this is on all of our minds. As we continue to strike the balance between a welcoming and secure environment, the following updates are in place at our school. We appreciate your attention and understanding.
- Visitors dropping off items at school will use a sticky note provided to label the item with the student's name and homeroom teacher's name. They will leave the item in the entry vestibule, and office staff will ensure it gets delivered. We will not be opening the transaction window to receive deliveries.
- Visitors will gain access beyond the entry vestibule only for a pre-approved reason (e.g., meeting with a staff member, planned classroom visit, special person lunch, etc.).
- Visitors who do not have a direct need to enter beyond the vestibule will be asked to remain in our entry area for things such as dropping off students late or picking them up early.
- Front office staff will communicate with visitors through the secure two-way audio system in the vestibule.

Health Services
Cold and Flu Season
We are continuing to see cases of Pneumonia, Strep Throat, Influenza, Covid 19 and GI Viruses (Vomiting/Diarrhea) circulating the schools. As we enter winter break, we ask that you please reach out to your student's Medical Provider if symptoms do not improve within a few days or if you have concerns that your student may have a communicable disease (DHS Wisconsin Childhood Communicable Disease guidelines). This information is very helpful to us in the health office to help track illness and notify families when appropriate. We are happy to answer questions about medical exclusion policies and attendance, provide medications in the health office or be a resource for your student if needed for ongoing illness. Please reach out with questions and stay well!
- If interested in getting your student vaccinated please visit Public Health Public Health Immunization Clinics or reach out to your Clinic.
- If you are in need of Health Insurance please review our Health Insurance Resources located on the MSD Health Service Website.
Medical Attendance
Is your student missing school due to illness, injury or health-related appointments? Providing a medical note or appointment card will prevent these types of absences as counting towards your students' allotted 10 days of excused absences for the school year. Please reach out to School Nurse, Stephanie Peplinski at PeplinS@mcfsd.org or cepsattendance@mcfsd.org if you have additional questions about this process. You can also find more information about absences and attendance in the CEPS parent handbook located on the school website.
