WE NEED YOUR HELP TO REACH OUR READING GOALS!
We have set some big goals for our students in reading! We frequently measure students' progress towards those goals using the Acadience (K-3) and Dibels (4-5) platforms. We sit with each student multiple times throughout a trimester and test them on different skills, depending on their grade level. These areas include letter/sound identification, phoneme segmentation, nonsense word fluency, and reading fluency. When we met with our parents/guardians during our Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences, we were happy to share those goals and students' individual progress toward meeting those goals.
We have set some aggressive goals and WE NEED YOUR HELP! If you are wondering how to help your student(s) with these skills, we have included some information below that will explain what each skill means, how it is tested, and how you can practice the skills at home.
We encourage each of you to look over the information below and practice the skills for a few minutes each night! If we work together, our students will be able to dream big dreams, believe in themselves, and achieve their goals!
Introducing Boys Town
Boys Town uses research-proven tools and strategies to teach practical, real-world social skills and address behavior within a structured school-wide behavior management system. This evidence-based intervention program is known to reduce challenging behavior, improve students’ physical and emotional safety and increase student and teacher satisfaction all while motivating both students and educators to engage in positive interactions and prosocial behaviors. This helps us create a positive learning environment for all students!
Students start their day with a 20-minute lesson on the "Skill of the Week," and teachers consistently reinforce these skills throughout the day! Coupled with our PBIS Rewards Program, students learn every day social skills and are rewarded for their positive behaviors! Be sure to ask your students about the skills they are learning, and practice these at home! They are incredibly versatile and can be used anywhere! Feel free to read more about Boys Town at the link below.

Car Rider Information
Effectively immediately: All morning car riders must turn RIGHT into the school parking lot to drop off their students! If you are coming from Atlanta Highway down 6th Street, you must continue straight and use the gravel lot on the left to turn around. There is to be NO parking, idling, waiting, etc. on 10 Street at any time! We appreciate all of our Tiger families and their support while we make our mornings more efficient!
