February 2024 Recap Newsletter
A message from PVM High School Administration
What a fun and exciting month it has been! The Beauty and the Beast musical was absolutely astounding! Our cast, pit performers, and backstage crew delivered an extraordinary show that left us in awe. Each member poured their heart and soul into their roles, and their dedication truly shone on stage. We couldn't be prouder of their remarkable talent and hard work. Congratulations to everyone involved for a truly unforgettable production!
We would also like to express our gratitude for your assistance as we continue to prioritize school attendance. We understand that attendance is an essential component of academic success, particularly when we all work together to ensure every student attends school. Your ongoing support is invaluable and greatly appreciated.
Furthermore, we encourage ongoing discussions regarding responsible and respectful social media usage among students. It's crucial to emphasize the importance of posting safely and kindly online. We want to bring attention to the existence of social media platforms that incorporate 'PVMHS' and graduation dates but are neither approved nor affiliated with our high school. Your engagement in these conversations is highly valued as we strive to uphold a safe and positive learning environment.
The Paul V. Moore High School Adminstrative Team hopes that you all had a relaxing February break with your friends and family. We look forward to the remainder of Winter and eagerly await the arrival of Spring.

PSAT/SAT/ACT Additional Information
- See where they are and set a target
- Find out about their AP Potential
- Enter the National Merit Scholarship Program
- Help pay for college
- Connect to their future
Why take the SAT exam?: Most colleges—including those that are test optional—still accept SAT test scores. Together with high school grades, the SAT can show your potential to succeed in college or a career.
Why take the ACT test?: The ACT is a good value because it offers a college admissions test, college course placement, and a career planning component for one modest fee. And you can make yourself visible to colleges and scholarship agencies across the country by taking the ACT. It’s a complete package of services to help you get ready for life beyond high school.
Additional Information:
- If you are planning on attending a four-year college or university, check each college's website to see if they require these test scores. Many colleges have adopted a test-optional policy.
- It is advisable to consider taking each test at least once (take the ACT with the writing section; the SAT no longer offers the writing section).
- If you are enrolled in a community college and intend to pursue your Associate's Degree, it's important to note that these tests are not mandatory.
- If your plan involves beginning your academic journey at a community college and transferring to another institution before completing your degree, it's worth considering that you may be required to provide these test scores.
For more information, please visit https://www.collegeboard.org/, http://actstudent.org, or reach out to your School Counselor for additional questions.

2023-2024 Opt-Out Fundraiser
Opt-Out Fundraiser Information
In June, the Class of 2023 was able to provide many fun celebrations for the outgoing Seniors. They included cotton candy, kettle corn, specialty lemonades, soft serve ice cream, donuts, and French fries. The Seniors loved it and it was fantastic seeing them so happy.
We would not have been able to do this without the funds we raised throughout the years. We do, however, recognize the financial hardships the last few years have presented and thus affected fundraising participation.
Being parents ourselves, we often feel stressed by fundraising pressures. We have heard many family members state that they would rather make a donation to the cause. For that reason, we invite you to participate in our Opt-Out Fundraiser by making a yearly donation of $20.00, (however, any amount will be accepted and appreciated.) If you choose to participate in our Opt-Out fundraiser, please send a check with your child during the month of November made out to their respective class, with your child’s name on the memo line. Cash is accepted, as well. Please have your child bring the donation to the advisor(s) in the locations below. Please make sure donations get put into the hands of the advisor and are not left unattended. Thank you.
