STANWOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
JUNE 16, 2024
OUR DISTRICT PROMISE
Every student in the Stanwood-Camano School District is empowered to learn in an inclusive setting and is prepared for the future of their choice.
A GREAT ENDING TO A GREAT YEAR
It was quite the year and quite the ending! Thank you so much to all of the volunteers that helped make our Olympic Themed Field Day a great success. It's always great fun to see how excited the students get on this day of celebration. I want to extend a special thank you to Erik Rosenkranz and Dani Gaumond for chairing this event, to the PTO board for sponsoring and helping run this fun day and to Jobi Polluck and Dave Iversen for all of your hands-on support to get the day up and going. As Field Day is sponsored through the funds raised from our Spartan Dash, a thanks goes out to all of you families as well! It's a terrific way to end the year in celebration of a year's worth of hard work.
Now, we say goodbye to our 5th graders and some of our families. It's always bittersweet as they (the students) seem ready to move forward, though it's hard to say goodbye to some of our family. This group of 5th graders is the group that joined SES the same time as me and it's hard to believe it's been six years already! We will say goodbye to this group of 5th graders with our slide show on Tuesday and then walking/running the halls of SES.
We're saying goodbye to some staff as well. Annie Hook, Diana Brogan, Cris Kelly, DeAnn Larson and Julie Moores are all retiring. Jen Collins is moving out of state with her husband and Heather Schmitt and Jenny Sepulveda are taking a leave.
Thank you for all of your support and for partnering with us this year. Serving the students and families of SES is a real privilege and as we finish this school year, we can't help but begin looking forward to meeting our new families in the fall. I hope you all enjoy your summer to its fullest. We will see you in the fall!
Staci Lauinger, SES Principal

SUMMER HOURS
Many of our school offices close or reduce hours of operations during the summer.
Please see our district website for the dates, times, and details for when our school buildings and departments will be open to the public in summer 2024.
At Stanwood Elementary, the office will be open 8 a.m.-3 p.m. until June 21. The office will reopen August 14 and operate with the hours of 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
Schools and school departments will resume their normal hours of operation when classes begin on Sept. 3. See or download the upcoming school-year calendar HERE.
Find contact information — phone numbers, emails, and physical addresses — on our website HERE.

BACK-TO-SCHOOL INFORMATION
The district is supplying school supplies again this fall. For this reason, there is no supply list.
Next school year, all students at SES will have access to free breakfast and lunch due to our free/reduced lunch percentage. Your child may also bring lunch from home as well.
Class assignments will be sent via email in late August. Our numbers vary considerably over summer as this is the most common time for families to move in and out of the area. Information about transportation and any back-to-school event that might be happening will come out then as well.
All kindergarten families will be invited to a Kinder Connection Meeting. As these meetings take three days to complete, Kindergarten does not begin until September 6th.

YMCS CHILD CARE SURVEY
The Stanwood-Camano YMCA believes our community is stronger when all children have the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve.
Their school-age care program impacts youth by guiding them through skill development, positive relationships, and inspiring opportunities to explore and discover.
To ensure that they are prepared to meet the needs of families and students, please consider completing this survey.
Your responses will help the YMCA better understand how they can design our programs to meet your needs.
