Dear Hunley Park Families:
As we welcome the arrival of fall, we want to take a moment to reflect on what a fantastic September it has been at our hive! This month, we celebrated the selection of students into their houses. Each child is now proudly representing one of our four houses: Amistad, Isibindi, Rêveur, or Altruismo. Please ask your child which house they belong to and encourage them to share what it means to them!
Our students are diving into our new reading curriculum, exploring the world of fables, classic tales, and fairy tales. They’re chanting to the rhythm of nursery rhymes and honing their skills in writing personal narratives. It’s wonderful to see their creativity and enthusiasm blossom! We also hosted several important events, including Open House, Title One meetings, and data conferences. If you haven’t yet scheduled a conference with your child’s teacher, we encourage you to do so. It’s a great opportunity to discuss your child’s progress, celebrate their successes, and identify areas for growth.
Additionally, we are planning field trips and would love for you to consider volunteering. Your involvement creates lasting memories for your child, so please ensure you are registered in our Raptor system to participate. Looking ahead, October promises to be another exciting month with our month-long Hispanic Heritage celebration and our Fall Festival. Stay tuned for more details!
Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we work together to foster your child’s growth and success.
Warmest regards,
Dr. Gethers
