Happy Friday Ridgeview families! Here are your weekly updates.

Happy Spring everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying the weather and longer days! We want to start off by celebrating our 3rd Quarter Honor Roll and Attendance students. For Q3 we are excited to announce we had 615 students who had 93% or higher attendance, as well as 528 students who were on Honor Roll! We are so very proud of our Ridgeview scholars and the work they are putting in! These students received certificates yesterday during their Pawtime. Congrats again to all of the recipients!

The next and last Lunch With A Loved One Event for the school year Tue March 25th. Due to the high number of responses we’ve had over the last week, we can no longer take responses from families to attend. We are officially full! Unfortunately we are unable to take walk-ins as a result, this includes dropping off food for students. Sorry for the inconvenience, but our spacing is very limited. Thanks in advance for understanding.

Due to the high number of tardies recently to classes, we reimplemented hall sweeps this week. Any student caught in the hallway after the tardy bell and no hall pass was swept to one part of the building for a quick meeting to discuss expectations. Moving forward, any student caught in a hall sweep will be assigned detention. This does include being tardy going to lunch, as it is a course on their schedule. Keeping hallways clear is a safety protocol. We hope this will clean up many areas. Please talk with your student(s) about the importance of getting to classes on time. Thanks in advance.

The weather is beginning to change a little bit and already we are seeing a change in our dress code. However, our dress code hasn’t changed at all. Parents/guardians please make sure your students dress appropriately for school. Slides are still not appropriate. They must have a closed toe shoe. Half shirts are not appropriate. Stomachs, shoulders must always be covered. Shorts should cover all necessary areas of the body. They should be at least mid-thigh length. Students who come to school out of dress code have the option of wearing something from our care closet or making a phone call home.

Lastly, new t-shirts are now available to order, as well as previous items. Samples will be available for view at our next Lunch With A Loved One Event on the 25th. If you have questions, again contact Tiffany Dalton.

District Policy states that only guardians listed on Infinite Campus are permitted to pick up their student. If your student needs to be picked up early by someone who is NOT their guardian, a guardian must call the office to let us know who will be picking up their child. The other adult must present a valid ID to office staff for the student to be released to them.

Personal Communication Devices:

• Pick-up times for Personal Communication Devices will be Mon - Fri in the main office from 8:00 am - 1:45 pm and again from 2:30 pm - 3:00 pm as long as school is in session. The main office closes at 3:00 pm daily.

• We’re collecting more devices daily. If your student has a device confiscated and it doesn’t belong to them, the person that it belongs to AS WELL AS the student who had it taken from will be added to our spreadsheet for a confiscated device. Please make a note of this.

School-Based Health Clinic

Pediatric Associates has an office located at Tussing Elementary that is available to all PLSD students and the community of Pickerington. The clinic offers the following services: helping with sore throat, headaches, earache, bad cough, strep test, immunizations, blood work, physicals, well check-ups, sports physicals, medication, asthma, etc.

The clinic is open on Monday and Wednesday from 9:00 - 3:00 and closed from 1:00 - 2:00 for lunch. Walk-ins are welcome or to schedule an appointment call 614-864-3222.

Spring testing - the Ohio Assessment Testing

Please take a look at the testing dates below to avoid scheduling appointments if at all possible. If a student starts a test, they will need to finish the test that same day.

Reminder to all parents - be sure students come to school with their Chromebooks fully charged and earbuds. Students will be testing from 7:15am to about 10:00am.

Per testing policy, students can not have their cell phones, watches with internet access, air-pods or beats out during the test, if at all possible leave these at home. If not, teachers will be collecting devices during testing and returning them after.

If a student misses a test, they will have to make it up during class time and will be missing instruction.

Attached is a flyer for this year's camp that lists what sessions will be available to choose from. Students can choose to stay with us all day, or just one session (they can pick a morning or afternoon). Each camper will receive a T-Shirt! The Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Public Safety have launched the SaferOH tip line that will accept both calls and texts 24 hours a day.

This tip line allows students and adults to anonymously share information with school officials and law enforcement about threats to student safety—whether that involves a threatened mass incident or harm to a single student.

Every tip can remain anonymous. School safety analysts may ask for additional information, but the caller can remain secret or leave his or her contact information for later follow-up.

Calls or texts to 844-SaferOH (844-723-3764) are answered by analysts in the Ohio Homeland Security’s Threat Assessment and Prevention (TAP) Unit. When action is needed, the TAP Unit immediately forwards information to Pickerington Schools, local law enforcement agencies, and others, if necessary.
