Greetings, Cardinals!
Welcome to the November 4th Cardinal Call. I would like to take a moment to thank our wonderful staff and administrative team for helping me in my transition into the Interim Principal role. To provide a little information about myself, I started teaching at Sun Prairie High School during the 2010/2011 school year as a social studies teacher. I then worked as a Dean of Students from 2016 until 2022. Following the split of Sun Prairie East and West, I moved into the Athletic Director role. I live on the east side of Sun Prairie with my wife Lauren and our daughter, and we love our Sun Prairie community. We are looking forward to making the 2024/2025 school year amazing.
This week's newsletter has a few important reminders. First, quarter one will be ending on November 5th. Please reach out to your instructors if you have questions about your mid-semester summary grades. Also, please pay close attention to how mid-semester summary grades can affect athletic eligibility. Finally, we also wanted to provide important information about the referendum and community events.

Please take a moment this week to check in with your student about their mid-semester summary grades. If your scholar is an athlete, please review eligibility information related to mid-semester summary grades. The information begins on page 10 of the athletics and activities handbook. The handbook is linked below:
What's on the ballot on November 5th for the referendum?
Question: "Shall the Sun Prairie Area School District, Dane and Columbia Counties, Wisconsin be authorized to exceed the revenue limit specified in Section 121.91, Wisconsin Statutes, by $25,000,000 beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, for recurring purposes consisting of expenses to provide for staff compensation and benefits, for educational programming, and to maintain operations?"

Jenna served as Athletic Director during Mr. Ertel's paternity leave in 2023 and has also been a physical education teacher and middle school sport coordinator. Welcome, Ms. Boberg!
