Dear parents,


It is with great pleasure that I announce that two Horizon Leadership Academy students achieved recognition in the International Math Challenge competition. Azra Keskin won the Silver Award. She won the award while competing with students from 81 other countries. Muhammed Saddik won the Bronze Award. Students from 81 countries participated in the completion. Please join me in congratulation our winners, their parents, and our teachers. WAY TO SOAR BLUE JAYS!


Time is flying by. We have entered the last month of the year 2022 and our students will be completing their first academic semester for the academic year 2022-2023. The final exam schedule will be shared by the Academic Coordinator soon.


This week the students are sitting for the MAP testing. The test will allow parents and teachers to monitor the progress the students have made since the first fall test. Kindly encourage them to concentrate fully while they take their test. Further, expect to receive the details and dates for the annual winter retreat for the Grade 8 students in the near future.


In addition, we are pleased to share that the construction of the new building is going according to the schedule shared by the contractor. At this pace, we expect to see the completion by summer 2023.

International Math Olympiad

We are honored to announce the success of our two students who won bronze and silver awards in the International Math Olympiad, which is held in 81 countries. We congratulate Azra Keskin(6A) and Mohammed Siddik (7A). Also, we congratulate the Math Count Club teacher, Ms. Canan Cetin for her hard work.

Map Testing

We strive to ensure that the success of our students in the first quarter will continue to increase in this quarter as well. As it is known, the MAP test is an official state-wide test that shows the growth of our students. Map testing has been postponed due to the water boil notice and will be held from November 30-December 05.

School Tournaments

Very excited to announce that HLA has started the soccer tournaments. You are more than welcome to join us every Tuesday and Wednesday at 2:50 PM.

Winter Camp

Looking forward to spending some quality time with our 8th graders in this winter camp.

Drug Free Week

The meeting with officer Burrell was so exciting and enjoyable. Our students were happy to meet him also they learned a lot about the danger and consequences of drugs and bullying.

Spirit Week

Maybe it was the most enjoyable week of the year. Our lovely students were like us. We saw ourselves within their looks. Thanks to our students. We love you guys!!!
