Congratulations to Brevin Armstrong, a first grade teacher at Mission Trail Elementary, and Audrey Burgoon, a theatre and modern communication teacher at Prairie Star Middle, on being selected to represent Blue Valley for the 2025 Kansas Horizon Award.
The Kansas Horizon Award, a Kansas State Department of Education program, recognizes up to 32 educators who excel in a manner that sets them apart as outstanding during their first year in the classroom.

783 Blue Valley students named AP scholars
During the 2023-24 school year, Blue Valley students showcased what it means to be #ChampionsOfLearning! We are excited to share that 783 students were recognized as Advanced Placement (AP) scholars, an achievement that demonstrates our students’ dedication, hard work and commitment to learning.
Thanks to our outstanding students, Blue Valley achieved record-breaking results on the AP tests in the spring of 2024, with an 84% pass rate of scores 3 or higher, and 72% of graduates having taken an AP class in high school. We are so proud of our students for these remarkable achievements, which would not have been possible without the support and dedication of our educators in ensuring their students’ success.
