Leadership Message
Dear St. Luke Families,
This week we focused on what Lent means and how we can make Prayer a part of our Lenten journey. Whether it’s a prayer as we get out of bed or a thank-you to God at the end of the day, our students are encouraged to give a moment of thanks for all that they have and all that they can be grateful for.
Our EICS Education Survey responses are in and were presented to the school council and our trustee this week. One area that was identified as a potential growth area is our diverse programming. I would welcome all of you to a one hour session this Wednesday night from 6:00 - 7:00 to engage in dialogue about how this programming could look at St. Luke for the 2024 -2025 school year. This is your opportunity to get involved in the school and together we can look at possibilities. Joining us this evening will be Mr. Paul Corrigan, our Superintendent of EICS. He is coming to answer any questions you may have from the division perspective. I look forward to spending this time on working towards a strong program base for St.Luke.
St. Luke will be hosting our first Student Health and Wellness day this Thursday, March 14th. There are many wellness activities planned for this day that will involve all students. Please look for the information as you read through the Good News!
A reminder that if you would still like to join us for the Digital Wellbeing presentation for parents and caregivers on Monday, March 11 you are more than welcome to come. The presentation is to learn how to help your child ages 9 - 14 years with the social and technological pressures they face in the world today. This is a free course offered by Strathcona County. Please consider joining us for this great opportunity.
Have a wonderful, warm weekend.

Library News
Thank you to our very own Lisa Dejong, for coming out to our school and sharing your newly published book with our Grades 1-4.
Lisa is a paralympic snowboarder who won silver at the 2022 Beijing Paralympics , a mother of two lovely daughters, who attend school at ST. Luke, and now the author of a wonderful storybook, "Lucy's fancy leg".
The students were given a chance to listen to Lisa's story about being an amputee, Her accomplishments as a snowboarder, and the steps it took to get her book published. They also got to feel some of her prosthetic legs, and also her silver medal.
Order forms also went out with the students, if anyone would like to purchase their very own signed copy of "Lucy's fancy leg".
