Clover Family Connections
September 13, 2024
It's a great day when you're twinning with your teacher (or with your student) and it wasn't even planned!
Building relationships has been our focus since the first day of school. We are well aware that it takes time to build trust with our learners. As we get to know each other these first few weeks of school, there may be a few bumps. We work together to make Clover a fun place to learn! 🍀
COME JOIN OUR WATCH D.O.G.S! SEE BELOW FOR INFORMATION!
Arrival and Dismissal Times
School dismissal starts at 3:25pm and ends at 3:40pm. If your child is a daily family pick-up and you are running late, please contact the office to let us know.
JOIN US FOR OPEN HOUSE ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 25TH 6PM-7PM
THE CAFETERIA STOPS SERVING BREAKFAST AT 8:50AM
Students have learned that they must go directly to the cafeteria if they are going to have breakfast. They do not have to go to class first. Please remind your child of this expectation. Also, please talk with your child about breakfast and whether or not they are to get breakfast daily. Breakfast costs $2.00/day. Follow this link for important information from our Food Services department.
The Clover Way
Our Clover Cougars are learning the three basic expectations they need to exhibit to make Clover Street School a fun and safe space to learn.
The Clover Way reminds us that when we are kind, respectful, and ready to learn we will be the best readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, and critical thinkers we can be. When we don't follow The Clover Way, we are impacting not only our own learning but the learning of our friends. Students are learning what being kind, respectful, and ready to learn looks like and sounds like in all areas of our building(s). Please help us by talking with your child about what these expectations mean and how these expectations will them not only in school but in everyday life.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The Clover Way extends to the bus
🍀
The bus is an extension of the school building and the behaviors we expect to see in the school building are expected to be shown on the bus. On the bus, students are expected to be kind, repectful, and ready to learn. This means they must:
-remain seated
-use appropriate language
-keep hands and feet to themselves
-listen to and follow the bus drivers directions
-refrain from throwing objects on the bus and/or out of the bus window
-refrain from using electronic devices to record or take picutres on the bus
Behaviors that that present a safety issue on the bus will be investigated. When a student is written up by the bus driver/bus company or we are informed by the bus driver/bus company of inappropriate, unsafe bus behavior, families will be asked to transport their child to or from school for one day, depending on when the incident occurs. In some cases this could mean picking your child up from school as the incident occured on the way to school. Families will need to meet with me or Mr. Spector when they pick up or drop off their child to discuss the incident and plan next steps for transportation. Next steps could be and are not limited to assigned seating, bus suspension for a period of time, and loss of bus transportation privileges. Three incidents of inappropriate/unsafe bus behavior will result in the loss of bus transporation privileges for the marking period.
