Plympton Family Update
August 29, 2024
From the Plympton Admin Team
Hello, Families!
We had a great first week here at Plympton! I hope this message finds you well and that your children have had a positive and exciting start to the new school year! As we wrap up the first week, I wanted to take a moment to share my appreciation for your support and to highlight some of the wonderful things happening in our school community. We are excited to welcome our Kindergarten students on Tuesday, September 3! Kindergarten placements will be shared via email today, August 29, 2024.
The energy and enthusiasm throughout the building have been truly inspiring. Itβs been a joy to see the students reconnect with old friends and make new ones. Our teachers and staff have been working tirelessly to create a welcoming and engaging learning environment, and Iβm incredibly proud of the dedication and care they bring to their roles.
The PTO provided a wonderful photo op for our students and families - check out some of the pictures below! As we move forward, please know that our priority is ensuring that every student feels safe, supported, and challenged to reach their full potential. Weβre committed to maintaining open lines of communication, so if you have any questions, concerns, or feedback, donβt hesitate to reach out.
Iβd also like to remind you of a few upcoming events and important dates:
- π¦ PTO Ice Cream Social scheduled for September 12, 2024
- π Back to School Night scheduled for October 17, 2024.
**Voting takes place in the building on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. Voters will enter through the side doors near the music room. As such, our 3rd and 4th grade students will enter through the front doors at 8:25 and line up in the hallways.**
Weβre looking forward to an amazing school year filled with growth, learning, and community. Thank you for entrusting us with your childrenβs education and for being such an integral part of our school family.
Wishing you a restful weekend!

From the Nurse
Welcome Back!
Here is what you need to know for the 2024-2025 school year from the Health Office:
- A NEW Nurse Consent Form for OTC (Over the Counter Medication) and Field Trips needs to be completed and signed and returned for all students. You should receive these forms with your Emergency Contact Forms.
- Grade 4 students need to provide me with an updated Physical Exam form.
- We are treating Covid like other upper respiratory illnesses. Students must be fever free for 24 hours and free of symptoms to return to school. Please let me know if your student tests positive. We will still be monitoring our cases.
I am available by phone or email. Please feel free to contact me regarding any health concerns regarding your student at 781-314-5763 or sharonduquette@walthampublicschools.org.
Hereβs to a healthy, safe new school year.
