Foundation 4ward
January 9, 2024
We are Foundation 4ward!
A word from our Senior Executive Director, Aaron Lupuloff
As we enter 2024, the GCPS Foundation would like to welcome you to our monthly newsletter, Foundation 4ward ! The Foundation has been driven by four primary goals since our founding in 2006:
- Provide our schools with a mechanism for systemwide support and resources.
- Build and maintain a structure that supports GCPS world-class standards.
- Respond effectively to GCPS’ current support and resource needs.
- Increase support and resources in anticipation and response to future growth.
Foundation 4ward is a place for us to keep you in the know about Foundation news, support and resource needs, upcoming events, fundraisers, and offers.
We are dedicated to enriching and enhancing education as we encourage, embrace, educate, excite, empathize, and empower our students, teachers, and staff. We hope that this newsletter will inspire you to push 4ward with us in our mission!
Give your $24 in '24
The GCPS Foundation is embracing our $24 in ’24 giving campaign! Starting this month, we are encouraging employees to donate $24 a month as a part of their payroll deductions. These donations can be designated to any of our 50+ funds! There is a gift designation that supports almost anyone’s goals, initiatives, or mission. This ranges from a specific school or cluster to Hope thru Soap, who provide mobile showers to the community. We encourage our Board members and community to join in this fundraising endeavor and support us in pushing 4ward!
Thank a Partner

Fund of the month
Community-Based Mentoring General Fund and Scholarships
In honor of January being National Mentoring Month, the GCPS Foundation would like to uplift GCPS’ mentoring program, Community-Based Mentoring. Everyone involved with Community-Based Mentoring Program trusts in the “Power of One,” meaning they believe the impact of one caring adult can have a meaningful, positive influence in a child’s life. This program is active in all areas of a child’s life, with school counselors, teachers, family members, and community playing a role in motivating and engaging students in and out of school. “Studies have shown that mentoring relationships can have an impact on student achievement, self-esteem, and social-emotional learning. When students have mentors who believe in them, they are more likely to stay in school, set higher goals, and overcome obstacles. Mentoring provides students with a sense of belonging, instills resilience, and helps develop critical life skills.“ - The Community-Based Mentoring Program Team
