Picture Day

"Labor Day is a holiday that honors all workers. It also signifies the end of summer. The holiday is celebrated on the first Monday in September in the United States and Canada. Workers of all kinds enjoy the day off. It is a time for them to celebrate all that their work has made possible.

"Labor Day was first celebrated in the United States in New York City on September 5, 1882. At that first Labor Day, workers paraded in order to show their unity and desire for fair working conditions. The peaceful demonstration involved all types of workers, from seamstresses to bricklayers. They waved banners bearing such slogans as “Labor built this republic and labor shall rule it.” In June 1894 President Grover Cleveland signed a bill into law making Labor Day a national holiday."

Every year Hooker Oak PTO provides each student and staff members with a field trip t-shirt to wear when they are out in the community. Hooker Oak students will be wearing these t-shirts while out in the community where your business logo will be proudly displayed! Additionally, any Hooker Oak family who wishes to donate will have their name printed on the t-shirts as well.

We have three ways to sponsor our student t-shirts:

-$300 donation includes business name and logo

-$100 donation includes business name

-$50 donation includes family name

All families are invited to join us on Friday September 27th to cheer on our Mighty Oaks at the Jog-a-thon!

As part of the 4th grade dog unit they are running a supply drive for Chico Animal Shelter.

The QR code is Chico Animal Shelter’s Amazon wish list. We will have collection sites on the table(s) nearest rooms 6 and 9. The drive will run from August 26th-Sepptember 11th.
