February 2025
February Is HERE!
Happy February, everyone! I hope that everyone is having the absolute best start to the new year of 2025! What an awesome January we have had as a church family- from Lock-In's for our boys and girls, Dorcas Class, 3rd to 6th Grade Boys Devos, and Bible classes to Bible Builders, our Rainbow Experience Social, and watching our boys lead during our 5th Wednesday social, we have been SO unbelievably blessed at Woodland Oaks. I am so thankful that we get to do life together, and grow closer to our Lord each and every day! I loved watching pics and videos of our kiddos experiencing SNOW IN TEXAS! What a blessing it was to see God's creation of snow first hand, and watch our babies love it, too! Here's to a fabulous February! We have LOTS going on this month. Parents- you know the drill! Grab those calendars and let's get started marking down some important dates for our kids!

WOCC Treehouse Kids Happenings
VBS Informational Meeting
In order for VBS to happen and be a success, we need an incredible amount of amazing volunteers! We need help ranging from people to help decorate, run stations, lead groups, help with registration, coordinate, help in our nursery, lead our 2's and 3's that are children of volunteers, clean up crew, and so much more.
If you are interested in helping with VBS in any way at all, please make plans to join us on Sunday, February 16th at 5pm in the Chapel Center. We will explain all of the details you need to know regarding VBS, and will start rolling it all together! Let's work together to bring our children closer to Jesus, and help them know His love.
Daddy Daughter Date Night
Our annual Daddy Daughter Date Night will be held on Friday, February 28th in the Chapel Center . Our Treehouse Kids girls up through current 6th graders are encouraged to attend with their Dad or Father Figure in their life. We will enjoy horse and carriage rides, dinner, dessert, build our own bouquets, enjoy a jewelry making bar, games, and more! Please RSVP by clicking the picture.
Attire: Church dress *princess dresses are welcomed!*
***Moms, if you're interested in helping with this event, please contact Janna Wilkerson. We need a few more helpers to run stations. Thank you!***
Mother Son Date Night
Our annual Mother Son Date night will be held at Main Event- Shenandoah on Friday, February 21st. Our Treehouse Kids boys up through 6th grade are encouraged to attend with their Mom- or mother figure. We will enjoy bowling, laser tag, a pizza dinner, and arcade fun! Please RSVP by clicking the picture.
Memory Verse Check-In
WOW! What an awesome start we had to our 2025 Memory Verse Challenge at WOCC! 34 kiddos recited their verse to me with confidence! I could not be more proud of these kids- and their amazing parents- for taking the time to truly write God's Word on their hearts. Keep it up, kiddos!
Our February Memory Verse check-in will take place on Sunday, February 23rd by the posters in front of the Welcome Center. Kiddos can come recite their verse to me in between Bible Class and Worship service, during the "donut fellowship" time.
Our verse for the month can be found in John 15:12- "My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you."
Serving Through Teaching
Did you know that it takes a large amount of people willing to teach and help teach in Bible Classes for our kiddos to be able to attend every Sunday morning and Wednesday night? It's true! We have to have a minimum of two people in each Bible class in order for our kiddos to attend.
Serving through teaching is an incredible way to grow closer to our young ones, learn more about our Bibles, serve at WOCC, and help our little ones grow closer to God. If you would like to serve by teaching or assisting, please let our Education Deacons Mike Arnold or Matt Fitzgerald know. They are currently working on filling our teaching calendar, and can help you!
Looking Ahead...
We aim to have a service project once a quarter for our Children's Ministry program, and our next project will take place in March.
Last year, we built a butterfly garden at WOCC, and I think it is safe to say that everyone from our young ones to our older population have enjoyed it! I have had the best time watching our kiddos plant the plants, paint and put out our painted rocks with verses/pictures/positive words, and learn from Mr. Sam about what kinds of animals these specific plants attract!
It is time to re-vamp our WOCC Butterfly Garden for Spring! On March 29th, we will have a "Bikes and Butterflies" Service project and social. Our first half of the event will be a Bike Parade where our kiddos will decorate their wheeled rides *scooters/strollers/bikes/wagons/etc* and then will have a parade around the parking lot! Our second half will have a re-vamp of the Butterfly Garden. We need volunteers to help with this event. If this is something you're interested in, please contact Janna Wilkerson. It takes a village to make these things run smoothly and easily, and your help is much appreciated! Thank you!
