ETHS Hosts NASA HUNCH
On February 28th, the NASA HUNCH students presented their biohealth and hardware design projects to several NASA engineers, guest engineers from the community, and students and staff. Over the last five months, each group designed a project that solved or researched a specific task or problem that NASA is considering for future space missions. East Troy students' projects included biofilm research, IV fluid administration in zero gravity, lunar greenhouse design, and mental health care in space. All of the HUNCH participants should be very proud of their accomplishments and now have a chance to be chosen to present their projects in Houston at Johnson Space Center.
The HUNCH program at East Troy High School is run on a yearly basis. Each year NASA offers the opportunity to design and build the projects. These projects provide students the opportunity to learn about the engineering process. For more information about the program for next year please contact Ryan Manske at the high school. manrya@easttroy.k12.wi.us
Early Childhood Education students teach their classmates!
The Foundations ECE students taught mock lessons to their classmates this week. Ms. Elliot, Ms. Josie and Mr. Fisher had the whole class smiling and laughing while completing a math lesson using shaving cream!
If students take both Foundations of ECE and Health, Safety & Nutrition transcripted through Gateway Technical College, they earn the Group Child Care Basics certificate. Once they turn 18, this certificate qualifies them to teach in a daycare!
