Week of September 2, 2024
Academics & Athletics
I hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend, took a break from school work, and enjoyed the beginning of college football season.
At SJM, we are continuing to delve deeper into subject matter. Most students have finished their beginning of the year tests. These i-Ready tests let teachers and students know where they academically at the beginning of the year. Students will take these tests again in the spring to show how much they have grown over the course of the school year.
School athletic teams have been practicing and begin competing this week. All tickets should be purchased online prior to the game. If the game is a "home" game, you can purchase tickets here.
If the game is "away," there is a short video you can watch to demonstrate the process. View the video.
SJM Robotics Team
The St. James Robotics Team is now accepting applications. This is NOT Lego robotics. The robotics club will build a remote-control submarine! If interested, please see Ms. Buckley room C-14 or Mr. Carroll B-14 for an application. Spaces are limited so sign up quickly if interested!
Environmental Club
The Science and Environmental Club is starting up for the year. If you are interested in science or the environment, this club is for you. Come work in the garden, make projects out of repurposed materials, and get hands-on experience with our local ecosystems. Interested students should get a sign-up paper from Mrs. Richardson, Ms. Gauck, or Mrs. Buckley. Our first meeting will be next week.
