Community Efficiency Committee
Lewisville ISD Families,
In my last newsletter video, I shared with you a little information about the Community Efficiency Committee (CEC). In response to declining student enrollment and ongoing budget challenges, LISD formed the CEC in the summer of 2024. This group of over 50 stakeholders representing campuses across our district has been tasked with reviewing facility usage, enrollment trends, and how best to optimize district resources.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will send out a series of videos to share more details with you about the CEC’s work. It is challenging to narrow down complex work that has taken place over several months into a few short videos, but we want to keep you as informed as possible about issues impacting our district.
This fall the CEC will share with the Board their analysis of all the efficiency data. It is important to understand that the committee is providing an analysis of the information only, and no decisions are final until the Board takes action in December.
The district in October will communicate directly with the families at each campus that may be impacted about opportunities for families to share feedback, prior to the Board taking action. I also want to be very clear with every family in our district that we understand the impact any decision made will have on our students and the communities we serve. It is for that reason we spent months meeting and reviewing data with both staff members and families representing our campuses.
The first video in the series will provide an overview of the process the district used to plan for boundary adjustments and facility usage. In the next two episodes you will get a more in-depth look at the information the CEC reviewed.
