Week-at-a-Glance (WAAG) for Dec. 18-22, 2023
'Twas the week before Christmas Break
There are 5 days of school left until we are on Christmas Holidays! The excitement is alive in the hallways of the school! Our students and staff are busy preparing for the Elementary Christmas Concert on Wednesday night, which will surely get everyone into the Christmas spirit.
We are blessed to be able to provide for so many families due to the generosity of all the Legal Titans families. The hampers will be delivered on Tuesday morning, and 26 families benefit from this special campaign. As we journey through Advent, we are reminded that we are called to prepare and be ready for Jesus, and that can happen through our actions and words and how we treat one another. Simply we are like Jesus by being kind always. As part of being a Titan, we remind the students daily through our school-wide expectations to be respectful, responsible, safe, and proud, and that's just what we do when preparing for Jesus to come into our lives.
Blessings for another great week!

Prioritizing Your Family’s Mental Health Over the Holidays
One week left until it is Christmas break! The holidays are a time to recharge, relax and spend time with loved ones. Although it is a busy time, it is important to keep in mind that our mental health still needs our attention over the holidays.
Keeping up with things like routines, budgeting, acknowledging feelings, and slowing down are all examples of what we can do to help from feeling overwhelmed.
Check out the following link for some ideas and tips on how you can prioritize your and your family’s mental health this Christmas break.

GSACRD ADVENT CAMPAIGN: Our Lady of Kibeho Girls Orphanage in Uganda
Learn to do good; seek justice, rescue the oppressed, defend the orphan, plead for the widow. - Isaiah 1:17
Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools is proud to engage our school communities in learning about and participating in the work of Catholic Social Teachings. We are called to Love God by loving our neighbour, anyone in need. We are the hands and feet of Christ.
This Advent, we are pleased to support orphaned girls of Our Lady of Kibeho Orphanage in Uganda.
Our Lady Of Kibeho Orphanage Foundation empowers vulnerable orphans in Uganda — many of whom lost their parents as a result of AIDS. Incorporated as a society in Alberta, Canada and registered as a charity with the Canada Revenue Agency, we provide the necessities of life: access to education, medical supplies, shelter, food, water, and clothing.
May this season of waiting in hope for the coming of our Saviour also be a time to give thanks for our blessings and to be generous with our gifts.
At Legal School, we will be collecting donations at the Christmas Concert for the Orphanage, along with a raffle for the Best Seats in the House, Principal's Prime Parking and a Christmas Guess the Candy Jar in order to raise funds for the GSACRD Advent Project. Watch for more details to come out next week!

Christmas Hamper Campaign
Thank you for your donations!!
We are overwhelmed with the GENEROSITY from Legal School Families. Donations came rolling in all week, and the town food drive was also a great success. Thank you to the JH students for walking around town and collecting the items for the food drive. Congratulations to Grade 1/2 for winning the schoolwide competition of a pizza party (coming out from behind the groups and taking over the 2/3 by 275 points)! The deliveries of the Christmas Hampers will go out next Tuesday morning, and our hearts are overflowing with the compassion and generosity of our Titan families!
The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor. Proverbs 22:9

French Immersion Survey 2023-2024
Dear GSACRD families,
We seek feedback from families who attended our French Immersion schools or programs and are no longer enrolled. French Immersion has been an integral part of Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools for over 40 years, and we take great pride in the quality of this program.
To continue providing quality French Immersion programming, we would like to understand better the needs and priorities of our parents and students and the reasons that led families to decide to leave the program.
Please follow the link below and take a few minutes to answer several questions. Your feedback will be compiled and considered as we continually work to update and improve our French Immersion program. Please note that surveys are anonymous.
This survey closes on January 1, 2024.
We thank you in advance for your input and look forward to learning from your experience in our GSACRD French Immersion program.
God Bless,
Cathy Giesbrecht
