Superintendent Message
Unity is strength ~ When there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved.
- Mattie Stepanek
Dear School Community,
As we wrap up the month of February, I want to take a moment to reflect on the power of unity and collaboration across our entire district. Every day, we see this in action — through dedicated teachers guiding student learning, support staff ensuring smooth operations, and administrators working hand-in-hand with staff, families and the community. It is through these collective efforts that we create meaningful opportunities for student success. By working together, we will continue to advance our shared mission of providing every student with a future-ready education!
Thank you parents, teachers, staff, administration, and Board of Trustees for all you do to ensure an exceptional future for every student in Spring Hill ISD. We are excited for a fantastic spring semester filled with many student achievements!
Sincerely,
Penny Fleet

Spring Hill Primary Hosts Read-A-Thon
To encourage students to develop a lifelong passion for reading, Spring Hill Primary is hosting a Read-A-Thon through March 7. Students have a campus-wide goal of reading a total of 86,600 minutes during the event. This initiative was strategically planned to coincide with Read Across America Week, a nationally recognized celebration that encourages lifelong reading habits among students.
To make this event even more special, the school is welcoming guest readers during the Read-A-Thon. Special guests include Longview Mayor Kristen Ishihara, Longview Police Department representatives, Longview Fire Department representatives, District Administrators, School Board Trustees, and other members of the community. “We welcome volunteers throughout the year, and this Read-A-Thon brings an increased focus on community involvement in literacy,” said Assistant Principal Lesley Jaap.
In addition to fostering a love for reading, the Read-A-Thon also serves as a fundraiser for the school as students secure pledges for every minute they read. Proceeds will help purchase classroom supplies such as decodable books, science lab materials, STEM activities for the library, and student incentives.
