First Grade Pet Parade!
From the Principal
Greetings Riverview families!
It was a fabulous week at Riverview! It was a "normal" schedule and included lots of fun learning as seen above. The 1st Grade Pet Parade was adorable and loved by all.
We are setting up for the Book Fair today. Times and details for the Book Fair and conferences are below. Please remember that next week is Parent/Teacher Conferences with a half day of school on Wednesday and no school on Thursday and Friday.
There is a LOT of information in this newsletter about upcoming events for your reference.
Take care and have a fantastic weekend!
Sincerely,
Lea Ann Combs
Riverview Interim Principal

Riverview Reads Program
Hello All!
I am excited to be sharing the Riverview Reads Program with you. This library program is designed for students in the 3rd - 5th grades. There are 16 books on this year's program list. Each of these books are chosen carefully and deliberately to encourage kids to try out different genres and to expand their love of reading. Each book has a short, 10 question comprehension quiz. I give the expectation that students will choose at least five books from the list to read and take a quiz over. This is not a classroom grade, but more of an accountability measure and a way for me to assist all students to feel like they are successful readers. The program is built to be 100% successful. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns.

Library Assistance Wanted
The Library is in need of a few parent volunteers to help with inventory. This process requires scanning each book in the library. It’s not hard, but it is very time consuming. If you are interested, please contact Michelle Wisdom michelle.wisdom@usd232.org with dates and/or times you can be available. Thank you.
New Visitor Management System
USD 232 is implementing a new visitor management system this year through Centegix. All visitors will continue checking in through the office, however an ID will be a requirement. This ID will be entered into the Centegix system and will create a sticker with a picture that must be visibly worn throughout the building. Nobody will be allowed in the building without an ID. Thank you in advance for your patience as we implement this new system!
