Officer Appreciation Day
In honor of National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day, we want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude for our incredible School Resource Officers, Officer Witthuhn and Officer Fisher.
Our SROs do much more than ensure safety; they build relationships, serve as mentors, and create a welcoming environment where students feel supported and secure every day. Their dedication, kindness, and commitment to our school community do not go unnoticed, and we are truly grateful for all they do. Please join us in thanking our SROs for their hard work, protection, and positive impact on our school! If you see them today, be sure to share a smile and a “thank you” for making a difference.

A Cup of Joy: We are partnering with the Human Bean Coffee shop to spread kindness in the Brunswick community! Each Applewood student will receive a coffee cup sleeve to decorate with words of kindness and joy. Stop by the Human Bean after next week and you might get a Cup of Joy courtesy of our Applewood students.
Stick with Kindness: Mission Kindness will be visiting all grade levels during lunch on Tuesday to talk about kindness and to pass out Kindness Stickers.
Kindness Activity Sheets: Students will receive kindness activity pages
Classroom Guidance This Month
We are finishing up our Emotion Management Unit over the next couple of weeks. This week third and fourth grade students played Coping Skills BINGO and filled out their own “Tool Box” of coping skills to help them with different emotions. Fifth graders learned about applying the tool of self talk to help them through anxious feelings. Ask your child about the Calm Down Steps: 1. Stop, 2. Name Your Feeling, 3. Calm Down (take deep breaths, try counting, use self-talk, or another strategy).
