CURRICULUM
Testing takes place almost all of May. Please review the testing dates above and ensure your child is getting a good night’s sleep the day before the exam. Finals exams will be May 22-29, 2024. Please make sure your child is ready for their exam every day.
Math:
The end-of-the-year state math assessments for our 6th grade-Pre-Algebra students will be taking place Wednesday, May 8th and for our Algebra 1 students, their EOC exam will be Tuesday, May 21st. These assessments will demonstrate your child’s mastery of their grade-level content standards. Please add these dates to your calendars and help us ensure that your child is prepared to do their best on their testing date by getting enough sleep, eating a healthy breakfast, and thinking positively.
Our students have been preparing by reviewing critical content these past few weeks in class. Please ensure that your child is in school every day so that he/she doesn’t develop gaps in their math understanding. Also, encourage and support your child’s academic progress at home by asking them to share what they’ve been reviewing in class and when possible, setting some time at home for your child to study.
Parents, please ensure that you’re keeping up with your child’s progress by checking Focus. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s progress, please reach out to their teacher(s). We have a few more weeks left in school, and we want every student to be successful in their class. Any students needing math assistance should attend our Math Lab. The Math Lab is open every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during both lunches.
Thank you for your continued support in your child's education.
ELA:
Continue to encourage your students to read during the summer. This will increase their interest in reading for enjoyment. The district shares different novels in the summer for your student to enjoy. Check the CCPS website and our website throughout the summer for information.
Let’s go, Gators! Let’s end the school year strong, GATOR STRONG!
Student Services
As we approach the final month of school, please remind your child that all school expectations continue to be in place. Students MUST come to school with their ID around their necks, in uniform, with proper footwear. In addition, students must follow the expectations listed in the Student Code of Conduct. Students who are habitually out of dress code, students with an administrative referral or students who are tardy to class will not participate in PBIS day on May 24, 2024. Parents, please check your child’s attendance in FOCUS to ensure your child’s attendance at this very special celebration. All school fees must be paid in full before students may attend field trips, the school dance, and PBIS Day. Please send your child to school with the money to bring their accounts current.
Student Laptops
Laptops should be charged every evening and brought to school daily.
