Torrey Hill Intermediate School
May 2023
A Note From The Principal
Dear Wonderful Torrey Hill Families,
We are excited to recognize and honor our school's 50+ staff members at Torrey Hill during the week of May 8-12th. There are some special events planned at Torrey Hill for Staff Appreciation Week. Please see the flyer below, from a special parent group, with even more fun ideas. The Board of Education, PTO and Sovita Credit Union will provide lunches, as well! Thank you! If you would like to further express specific gratitude for our fabulous team, there is a comprehensive list of staff members included below in this newsletter.
I am proud to announce we are just about done with our NWEA and MSTEP tests. Whew! This Friday, during our staff professional development training, we will be analyzing the NWEA results to plan for interventions (both above and below grade level) to further assist students in meeting the goal of attaining one year's growth every year.
We’re coming to a close and I thank you for sharing your wonderful children with all of us!
Yours in Learning,
Mrs. K. Conover
Principal, Torrey Hill Intermediate School

Full-Time Counselor At Torrey HIll
Our school counselor is now full time at Torrey Hill! We are so thrilled to have Mrs. Caldwell here to support all of our students in a variety of ways. She has already provided Xello (career planning) resources to all students. In addition, any student may request her support on an "as needed" basis. Small groups are conducted for many students, as well. These groups take place weekly and if parents/guardians wish to have their child opt out, please put requests in writing. Groups focus on internal and external concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief, friendships, bullying, aggression, etc. Again, we are thrilled to have Mrs. Caldwell provide support to all of our Torrey Hill students. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Conover, Principal, your child's teacher or Mrs. Caldwell.

FIRST VIEW BUS TRACKING
Change In End Of Day Pick Up?
Any bus changes must be approved by the principal at least 24 hours in advance. Students are not allowed to take alternative buses home unless their is an emergency situation. Please do not use bus transportation as a means of transporting friends for after school social or extracurricular events. Our buses have capacity limits and we cannot add students to bus routes. We care about the safety of our students and therefore must closely monitor ridership on our school buses.
