James & the Giant Peach Musical
After months of planning and preparation, James and the Giant Peach was a smashing success! Our students performed in front of a packed auditorium, and they were phenomenal. The audience was incredibly impressed by the outstanding performance. After the school performance, our younger students were saying that it was the best play they have ever seen! A huge thank you goes to Mrs. Bruce and all of our staff members who assisted in this amazing performance. We are grateful for our teachers who put in numerous hours supporting this tremendous event.
Cast Party!
The 3/4 students that were in the musical got to have a cast party today!! Pizza party for lunch, peach shaped cookies, each cast member got to have their own playbill which they got all their fellow cast members to sign each other playbills as a keepsake and they were also each given prints of the photos that were taken of them in their costumes! Thank you to all the sponsors of the musical that funded this cast party and to Courtney Forrest, Heather Bowen, Laura Belden and Meghan Fox for planning it all!
James & the Giant Peach Sponsors
Thank you to everyone who donated funding to the 3rd & 4th grade production of James and the Giant Peach! Our students and staff worked very hard all year long to produce a phenomenal show and we couldn't of done without the support of our community! Thank you!

Golden Dome Book Author Event
On Thursday, April 25th, twenty-six Lothrop student in grades 4th through 6th joined over a hundred other students from the RNESU district at OVUHS for a Golden Dome Event. Students needed to have read at least five of this year's Golden Dome Books in order to attend the event. We hosted a virtual visit from, Gillian McDunn, author of Honestly Elliott, one of the books on the current GDBA list. Ms. Dunn spoke to students about the writing process and her journey in getting her books published. Students had the opportunity to ask her questions about her book and career. Afterwards, students participated in a trivia contest about this year's book nominees for a chance to win a free book.
Reminders
RNESU (Lothrop) Family Trip Attendance Request
Your child’s attendance is crucial to their success in school. We understand that not all family experiences can be scheduled during normal school vacations. Given that, please be aware of the attendance procedures listed below when considering scheduling a family vacation outside of the normal school vacation times.
A maximum of ten (10) cumulative lawful absences verified by parental notification may be permitted during a school year. All absences beyond ten (10) cumulative days shall require official documentation.
Should your child accumulate more than 10 lawful absences we will ask for doctor’s documentation, a conversation with the nurse that results in an excused absence or other official documentation as approved by the school for future absences. Absences without medical documentation or approved by the school will be considered unexcused.
Please contact your school principal with any questions or concerns in reference to this matter.
