QT4: Week 2, April 28-May 2
Greetings PK-8 Coyotes!
As we head into the final week of April, I want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible growth our students have made — a direct result of the dedication and hard work of our teachers and Coyote families.
Here are a few updates for our campus this week...
Help Us Celebrate Our Amazing Teachers!- Teacher Appreciation Week: May 5-9
We are so grateful for the incredible work our teachers do every day to inspire, support, and guide our children. Let's come together for Teacher Appreciation Week (May 5-9) to show our appreciation and celebrate all they do! Below are some ways you and your family can get involved — every note, smile, and thank-you makes a difference!
Math STAAR Testing for all 3rd-8th Grade Students:Tuesday, April 29
Just a reminder that the last day of STAAR testing is this Tuesday, April 29 with all our 3rd-8th grade students taking Math STAAR. Please encourage your child to do their very best.
STAAR Reminders
1. Bring charger and laptop fully charged to school
2. Take your time and show your work
3. Go to bed early
4. Bring a light sweater or jacket
Student Behavior:
Lately, we’ve noticed an increase in misbehavior that disrupts classroom learning and impacts the overall school climate. We are addressing these issues at school through clear expectations and consistent consequences. However, your support at home is vital. Please take a few moments to speak with your child about the importance of respectful behavior, listening to adults, and following school rules. Together, we can help every student thrive both socially and academically.
School Uniforms:
We also want to remind families about the importance of following our school uniform policy. Uniforms help create a sense of unity and reduce distractions, allowing students to focus more on their learning. Please ensure your child is dressed in the correct school uniform each day. You can see an example of appropriate dress for our PK-8 students at the bottom of our newsletter.
We truly appreciate your partnership. When schools and families work together, students succeed. If you have any questions or need support, feel free to reach out to us.
2025-2026 New & Returning Student Registration Open for All PK-12 Grade Students
Thanks for registering for the next school year! Students who registered by April 25th will be given a Free Dress Pass Coupon that will allow free dress for one week (May 5-9). Students who registered on Friday will also be getting an icecream treat on Friday.
If your child missed out on registering, there is still time to register for next school year and for them to earn a prize next week.
Student Attendance - Student Absences, Tardies, and Early Pick-Up
As you know, every day of instruction is vital to your child’s academic success, and missing school, even for short periods, can have a significant impact on their learning.
We understand that there may be times when your child needs to be absent, but we ask for your support in ensuring they attend school everyday. The more consistent their attendance, the more your child learns & grows.
Texas law also requires student to be in attendance 90% of the time regardless if the absence is excused or unexcused. Students who are below 90% attendance will be required to make up time. A formal meeting will be set up between the attendance administrator, parent, and student to set up an Attendance Plan.
When a student has 10 unexcused absences, our campus will begin the process for truancy court as required by Texas law.

Student Uniforms & Dress Code PK-8
Dear Parents,
This is a friendly reminder that all students are required to be in proper dress code and uniform while at school. Recently, we have noticed some students not adhering to the dress code. If a student is out of dress code, we will contact you, and a change of clothes or shoes will need to be brought to school. If a change is not provided, the student will be assigned lunch detention.
An exception to this policy is for students who have earned a Free Dress Pass or have perfect attendance (please see details of the Perfect Attendance Free Dress policy below).
Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring all students follow the dress code.
