Snowball Fight
PEAK Strategy
What is it?
Snow Ball Fight is an learning activity that incorporates choice, movement, engagement, and socialization.
Students work in groups to respond to one rigorous question prompt after another. The prompts are associated with different colors.
How do I use this strategy?
1. The teacher puts together a series of questions for students to answer that are paired with a specific color and/or number. Using colored frisbees, foam balls, sponges, or wads of paper, students have a "free-for-all" throwing them around the room for 15-20 seconds.
2. When the teacher gives a signal, all throwing stops, and everyone makes sure they have a frisbee, foam ball, sponge, etc.
3. Students then get into groups based on their colors or numbers and start working through the question prompt.
4. Example or Support Stations are set up around the room for the students if appropriate.
5. Repeat steps 1-3 as needed.
