MDSD CALENDAR 2024-2025

We asked students to provide one word to describe their first day of school.

On Friday, September 27th, Donnelly Elementary students participated in our first fall version of the Run to Roseberry. Each student wore a number and had their time recorded on a participation certificate. Several students showed 'determination' by giving their very best effort! Way to go Dragons!

Donnelly Elementary School has partnered with the City of McCall to expand the Donnelly basketball program. We are excited to announce that we will have multiple grade-level teams in the Long Pin Elementary Basketball League this year. If you are interested in having your child participate, please email Mr. Pickard (dpickard@mdsd.org) who is assisting the city with registration. Registration forms and schedules will be sent home in October. As well, DES will host a series of basketball clinics for 3rd-5th grade students beginning October 15th. Detailed information will be sent home with students.

On Thursday, October 17 at 8:15 am, Mr. Pickard will host a Parent Advisory meeting. This is an informal meeting to discuss events taking place at Donnelly Elementary School and within the McCall-Donnelly School District. You are welcome to bring your child to school, eat breakfast with them at 7:40, and then join our first meeting of the year.

Title I is a federal aid program designed to assist children in meeting the state academic standards. At Donnelly Elementary, our reading specialist works in conjunction with our classroom teachers to ensure that our students with the highest needs are receiving the additional instruction required to meet state standards. During the month of October, we will notify parents if their child is receiving intervention. I am including a link to our Title I page and a brochure (below) that provides detailed information. As the Title I Coordinator for the district, I would like to invite our parents to contact me if they have any feedback or questions. -David Pickard
