Hello Palmyra Families,

This is Ms. Bletterman with the Weekly News!

This week at Palmyra GATE Magnet, students participated in Start with Hello, a program that encourages inclusiveness, kindness, and building friendships. Students learned how to greet someone who might need a friend, wrote positive notes, played with new classmates, and embraced acts of kindness. It's a great time to ask your child how their class implemented these activities and what they enjoyed most!

Looking ahead, next week the PTA will focus on promoting membership. Our goal is to reach 200 members, and we have such an amazing community of parents and teachers to make that possible. PTA supports many wonderful events and opportunities for our students and families. Once we reach our goal, we’ll celebrate with an all-school ice cream party!

Additionally, we want to keep safety a priority. This month, we held a fire drill that included our after-school care program and a full-school lockdown drill. It's important to talk to your child about safety at school. Please remind them of these three key steps:

Listen to the safe adult nearby.
Follow their directions without question.
Move quickly and quietly.

Please ensure that all students have their phones and smartwatches silenced or airplane mode during school hours. If you need to reach your student, you can either send a message to the teacher via ClassDojo or call the front office.

We also encourage all students to follow these procedures to maintain a focused and uninterrupted learning environment.
