Thank you PTA and HPE families for pampering our staff for Staff Appreciation Week. We greatly appreciate the catered lunch, breakfast, treats, sweets, snacks, and all the food this week! We are thankful for your love and support!

Service Day is always an exciting day for our HPE students. The acts of service that our students do for the community is truly remarkable. Special shout out to our 5th graders-they collected 3,001 items for Coldwater. Surpassing their goal of 2,025. Great job!

The regular online lunch menu won’t apply on Field Day. Instead, all students will have:

• A sack lunch brought from home, or

• A sack lunch provided by the Café.

That morning during attendance, students without a lunch from home will choose one of the following Café options:

1. Hot dog

2. Uncrustable

3. Yogurt

All Café lunches will include chips, fruit, a vegetable, and a drink.

Thank you to all the families for supporting the HPE Art Show! We are thankful for the opportunity to have your kiddos show off their incredible artwork. Thank you for your support!

We welcome you to join your student for lunch. Please respect the following:

• Lunch visitors are welcome Monday-Thursday (not Fridays due to late start).
• Arrive to check-in a minimum of 5-minutes before your student's lunch time; call 816.986.2250 to inquire.
• Second semester: The last day for lunch visitors will be THURSDAY, MAY 15TH!

Important things to remember to make sure your student is not tardy:

• Students must be inside the school doors by 7:45 (8:45 on Fridays). Anyone arriving after that time will be considered tardy.
• All school doors close by 7:45. Anyone arriving after that time will need to go through the front doors to be let in.
• Announcements for the day begin at 7:46. If you are arriving at 7:46 or after you may be asked to wait a couple of minutes until the announcements are finished.

We appreciate your support.

• Help us ease front office congestion! Pick your student up from school by 2 p.m., especially on Fridays.
• Minimizing commotion the last 1/2 hour of the day helps us meet safety protocols.
• Is your student leaving early? Notify our front office staff (816.986.2250 or heather.wathan@lsr7.net) by Noon.

We'll inform necessary parties, and prepare your student to exit efficiently when you visit.

Here's a friendly reminder of what to LEAVE AT HOME if your student forgets:

-water bottle [we have cups and filtered water fountains]

-school supplies

-homework

-planner

-library book

-chromebook [can check out a loaner at school

-musical instrument

-lunch money [send it tomorrow; students will eat lunch regardless]

Acceptable drop offs include:

-Eyeglasses

-medicine

-coat/jacket

-sack lunch

The Lee's Summit School District has used 6 AMI Days for the 2024-25 school year with a total of 12 inclement weather days. Our new last day of school is Monday, June 2, 2025.

Please share your memoires for the 24-25 school yearbook!

If your child's teacher has invited you to chaperone, please immediately apply for clearance here. For "school-specific paperwork" in Step 3, contact front office staff to initiate a background screening that takes a min. of 2 weeks to process, and must be renewed annually. LSR7 employees are pre-screened.

Student hours will be 7:45-2:45 each day. Doors will open at 7:30 each morning and buses will depart at 2:45 each afternoon. The tardy bell will ring at 7:45. The HPE office will be open 7:15 - 3:15 each day to assist you with any needs you may have.

On Late Start Fridays, school will start one hour late with the school doors opening at 8:30. School buses will also run one hour late when picking up students.

Do you know about the Free and Reduced Lunch program? Parents/guardians are strongly encouraged to complete the application for free and reduced meals online. This can be completed on a computer, tablet, chrome book or cell phone. Check the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) eligibility guidelines to see if your family qualifies.
