MRS. LAMB'S CORNER ...............................
Westlake Families,
It's been a busy week as we have prepared for our Walk-a-thon today. A huge thank you to our PTA for all their hard work and time they have put in to this event. Thank you to our families, friends and sponsors who have donated. We have exceeded our goal!! It was a great event today. The students had so much fun. Thanks to all our families and friends who came out to cheer our students on today.
Conference will be October 15th and 17th. More information will be coming soon on how to sign up. If you ordered school pictures, they came home in Friday folders today. If you were not at our first picture day, picture retake is October 22nd. I hope everyone has a relaxing and restful weekend.

Sherman Lake 4th Grade Camp
Sherman Lake 4th Grade Camp is coming soon. Information and signup packets went home with 4th grade students in Friday Folders last week. If you have not yet returned your form to the school office, please make sure to get that turned in.

*Please call the Student Attendance Line if your student is going to be absent for the Whole Day. Please leave Your Name, Student's Full Name, Grade, Teacher and Reason for Absence.
*You DO NOT Need to call the Attendance line if you student is going to being coming in late or leaving early for an appointment. You will just need to come into the office to sign them in and/or out.

September PBIS/Spartan Way Classroom
Congratulations to Mrs. Shipley's class on bering the September PBIS/Spartan Way classroom. They got to celebrate with some fun prizes and donuts. They have shown the Spartan Way in the classroom, the hallway and the lunchroom. Great job on being responsible, respectful, honest, caring and safe.
2nd Grade Trip to the Symphony
2nd grade students took a field trip down to the Battle Creek Symphony. They has a great time!! A huge thank you to Mrs. Bernard for arranging this opportunity for our students.
Splash
Jonah Curtis, Nutrition and Physical Activity Educator from the Calhoun Intermediate School District will be joining all of our classrooms of the next month each week sharing lessons about nutrition and physical activity as well as tasting yummy healthy snacks. We will share the new recipe each week in the newsletter so families can try them at home. Check out this weeks recipe below as well as a few pictures.
Foodservice .....................
*All Student will receive Free Breakfast and Lunch
If your child would like an extra entree (example: two slices of pizza on Friday) or any entree during the week, they can deposit money into their account. *Change from last year ~ Extra entrees cost $2.25. Money can be brought into school, or you can make deposits online on the Lakeview Food Service site. Choices need to be made when they order lunch in the morning so the lunchroom can plan accordingly.
Tardy/Late Lunch Choice Information
Lunch Choices need to be ordered by 9:30 each morning. If you student is going arrive to school after 9:30, please call the school office with their lunch choice. If they do not make a choice and come after 9:30, they will receive PB&J.

It's week a great week. Lots of classrooms are meeting their PBIS/Sparty Shout out Goals and celebrating with lots of fun activities.
We are in need of backpack donations. If you would like to donate a backpack, please drop it off in the school office.

Westlake Walk-A-Thon: A True Success!
Thank you to all of our students and their families, friends, and communities for showing up in such a BIG way for our school!
This event is not possible without every student, teacher, staff, family, friend and neighbor, so for now, this is our THANK YOU to all of you!
We appreciate all of the families and friends that showed up for our students today and for all of our wonderful volunteers for making this event possible!
Walk-A-Thon Stats:
New Record: Mrs. Ibaigin's Kindergarten class raised $2,622.
New Record: Sponsorship Donations raised over $5,000.
Highest Participation: Mrs. Winer's First Grade class at 65%.
Grand Total: Over $25,000!
Our Upcoming Events:
Our next PTA Meeting is scheduled for October 14th. Please join us as we will be reviewing our events that have taken place so far this year, including the Walk-A-Thon, and we will begin discussing our hopes for the PTA going forward this year.

It's hard to believe but in two short weeks we will be gearing up for our annual Trunk or Treat! TRUNK OR TREAT will be OCTOBER 18th this year! Hopefully many of you can join us for this fun event.
