Are you a dedicated science educator with a passion for enhancing your teaching practices and transforming the way you engage your students? Thanks again to funding by the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation, SECO is excited to offer an incredible opportunity for K-12 public science educators across the state of Ohio!
Introducing the Ambitious Science Teaching Project 2.0!
At the heart of this project lies the Ambitious Science Teaching Framework, a powerful set of teaching practices designed to deepen students' understanding of science concepts, involve them actively in scientific activities, and empower them to solve real-world problems. The framework consists of four core teaching practices:
1. Planning for engagement with important science ideas
2. Eliciting student ideas
3. Supporting on-going changes in thinking
4. Pressing for evidence-based explanations
These practices are the keys to unlocking the full potential of science education.

Educators new to the AST project will have the unique opportunity to participate in six professional learning sessions from January 2025 to April 2025, with a focus on these four essential teaching practices.
