Need to Know Announcements

Testing starts this week!! Let's have 100% attendance this week!! ATLAS will be given on April 30th, May 1st, and May 2nd. Some things to talk about with your student: A)The ATLAS test is not timed, students can test for as long as he/she wants. Encourage your student to take his/her time and work hard. B)Make sure your student has a plan for breakfast and eats something each day.
Spring MAP tests will be given on May 7th and 8th.
Visit the Community Connection Center, where you'll find a wealth of community resources.

Keep'em talkin'!!

Do you ever ask your child about his/her day and you get a shoulder shrug? or "it was fine"? If this is the case, use these questions to ask your child about school - let's get them talking!

Science 7 - What are the three kinds of rocks?

Science 6 - When thermal energy moves into an object, what happens to it's molecules?

Social Studies 6 - Name a piece of Shakespear's writing.

Math 6 - What is ½ multiplied by ⅙?

Math 7 -What is the square root of 144?

Acc. Math 7 - What are you doing to prepare for math ATLAS on Tuesday?

ELA 6 - What do you need to do the night before your big tests during testing weeks? (charge Chromebook, got to bed early, etc.)

ELA 7 -When reading a text, what are some of the text features you can focus on to help you comprehend what you are reading?

Language Lab 7 - How do you create a complex sentence, and when would you use this type of sentence?

Health 6 - Explain how alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs negatively affect your body and mind, especially as a young person.

Careers 6 - What did you learn about budgeting? What is the best type of budget called and why should you use it?

BAND: When is your band concert? Monday, May 13th, at 7:30pm. I have to be at Har-Ber High School by 7:00pm. Extra band shirts cost $10. I also need long blue jeans without rips that fit me.

Keycode -What coding language are you using with Codesters?

Art 7: Which facial feature drawing from this week did you like the best? Which one would you like to work on or redo?

Stagecraft: What practical effects makeup technique are you most confident in?

Art 6: Show me your progress on your Celebrity Action Shot digital drawing.

Adv Art: What, if any, issues have you encountered while sculpting your papier mache project? How did you overcome those issues?

We had many students enter the Northwest Regional Art Competition. Congratulations to the following students that placed:

7 Grade - Rhiley Sabatini 3rd Place

6 Grade - (pictured below): Brinkley King 1st Place, Leah Phandanouvong 3rd Place, Nathalie Jane "NJ" Limos 2nd Place.

Brinkley's art will now head to the state competition!

Football Info for NEXT Year's 7th graders

1. Any parent of a current 6th grader who plans to play football for the 2024 season needs to use the link below to join the BAND app. BAND is the primary source of information for Hellstern football parents and families.

2. Here is information on how to order workout gear for your player. I have attached the link to the online store and a flyer with information on how to order. We would like all of our players to have at least one set for practices/games. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE ONLINE STORE CLOSES MAY 12TH. Orders will not be shipped until 4 weeks after the online store closes. Please read through all of the information on both the online store and the attached flyer for additional information.
