Dress Like a Storybook Character Day This Thursday!
All students are invited to dress like a book character on Thursday, October 31, 2024. Students must identify what book character they are dressing like by having a copy of their book with them. Book characters chosen cannot be violent or scary. No weapons are allowed to be carried. Book character dress must be appropriate for students to remain in all day. Free dress guidelines must be followed. We will have a literacy parade in the gym where all of our K-4 students will show their book characters and books to our middle school students. If your child does not dress up as a character they can still take part in the literacy parade by showing their favorite book. Our middle school students will actively be looking for different book characters and will be entered into a drawing for identifying the most book characters. Please fill this form out for each child that you have at CCA so that we can identify each book character!
Let CCA Know!
We want to hear from you! What is going well? What questions, concerns, or comments do you have? Interested in joining a committee or getting involved some other way? Please let us know here and we will work to address your questions in upcoming newsletters and/or in 1:1 communication. Fill out this form to Let CCA Know!
Monday Munchies Sign up!
Earn volunteer hours by providing snacks to the CCA staff every Monday. Store bought items equal one volunteer hour, and homemade items count as 2 volunteer hours. Sign up one week before you will bring snacks. We love taking care of our teachers and staff!
PTO Silent Auction Update
CCA Community,
Thanks to the tremendous support from our school community, the silent auction raised approximately $18,500. This remarkable achievement far surpassed our initial goal.
We are pleased to announce that beginning in January, the PTO will cover some of the field trip expenses for every student at CCA, with the exception of the DC trip and overnight excursions so that we can offset the fee parents have to pay. This initiative is made possible through your generous contributions, and we could not have accomplished this without the incredible participation of parents, teachers, and staff.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated items, helped source contributions, and placed bids. We also extend our gratitude to our sponsors (see list below) as we raised $1,200 in sponsorship, which will cover the expenses of the CCA experience auction items.
For those who won items, please check the email you provided to Givergy, as we are contacting all winners. If you won a teacher lunch or other CCA experience, kindly respond with your child’s name, grade, and teacher.
We are immensely grateful to this school community for your generous participation. The PTO is excited to fund these experiences for our students, and we appreciate your unwavering support.
Thank you once again!

PTO Thanksgiving Baskets
The PTO Hospitality team is getting ready to prepare our wonderful Thanksgiving baskets that we do for the staff every year. The PTO will be purchasing items and building baskets. We would like to ask if you could please contribute a $5 dollar donation to help make these baskets special. You can send $5 dollars in cash in an envelope to the front office or you are welcome to Venmo Mrs. Sourial, our PTO Hospitality chair at My Venmo @Natalie-Sourial. The last four digits of her phone number are 3063. Thank you in advance for your help in making these special for our staff!
Original Works Art Fundraiser Coming Soon!
Dear Parents,
We’re excited to announce that we will be partnering with Original Works this Fall, the original art-based fundraising company! Students will create artwork at school and then you can have your child’s art reproduced onto a variety of keepsake products ranging from Mugs to Magnets. Ordering will be done online and will take place in October/November. The products make great holiday gifts for family members as well as wonderful keepsakes for the students. Orders will arrive at school before winter break. And the icing on the cake is our school earns a profit from every order placed! Complete details on how to order will be sent home soon. Thank you for supporting this unique and creative program!
Veterans Day Assembly
