Hello Puma Families!
Cereal! Cereal! Cereal!
We love seeing those donation boxes fill up. A very special thank you to the parent who brought in 25 boxes on Thursday! Our total cereal box count is 340. We've got many more cereal boxes to collect between now and May 3. We appreciate every contribution. Thank you for all you do to support our community.

- Attendance Update! The collective Attendance Rate (Percentage of Students Present) for Apr. 1 - 12 was 89.60%. We are aiming for close to 95%! Thank you to everyone that attends school every day they can!
- Kindergarten Registration is now open! Click here to register your child for the 24-25 school year, and share the link with a friend!
- Drop-Off on Mindful Court—We've noticed that parents have chosen to drop students off on Mindful Court. We ask that you do not, as cars in that area create a safety concern by forming a blind spot for walkers and drivers to see each other when crossing the street.
- Have you seen our fence? Last week, LCPS installed a fence to separate the housing development from the Pinebrook property behind our school. There is a gate for students from the South 620 neighborhood to continue coming to and from school without interruption. We appreciate the efforts of several community members to emphasize the gate's importance to the county.
Pumas That Pounce
We are recognizing 5th-grade students who have demonstrated exemplary character and the 3Rs of Pinebrook. We want to celebrate Akshaya V as House Star this week! Congratulations!
Also, we want to give a shout-out to the PTA! What a tremendous group of parents we have! Your support means so much to the teachers. We are grateful for the opportunity to work with your kiddos. We can't thank you enough for all you do to make us feel special!
PNB Chorus performs at Lightridge!
"And The Home Of The Brave!" is how our Pinebrook chorus ended their incredible singing experience to the hometown crowd before Lightridge HS's varsity soccer game last Wednesday evening. The fourth and fifth-grade students were featured as guest singers of the National Anthem before the game vs. Briar Woods HS. As a special part of the experience, our elementary students walked to the field with a varsity player and then joined the energizing cheer before heading to the field. We appreciate the Lightridge Athletic Department, coaches, and music teachers for supporting the community, the arts, and sports with their excellent collaboration.
Tips From our Unified Mental Health Team!
As a new feature of the Puma Paw, our Unified Mental Health Team, or UMHT, will offer tips for parents. These are intended to be short and sweet and could make an impact.
Our UMHT consists of three school counselors, a school psychologist, a social worker, and administrators. If you have any questions, please contact us!
Here is this Week's tip: Did you know school-aged children need 9 - 12 hours of sleep per night? Research shows a lack of sleep can lead to difficulty learning in school, being more reactive, and difficulty focusing. Here are some tips on how to develop healthy sleep habits!
First Grade Poetry Celebration!
First-grade students and families joined the classroom a few weeks ago to celebrate the students' poetry unit! Throughout the morning, students had the opportunity to share their poetic prose with moms, dads, and grandparents and demonstrate the various structures of poetry they learned. There were laughs, encouragement, and many heartfelt smiles from parents to make the classroom event successful. Kudos, first-grade!

School Information
Remember, when you come to school...
- When you come to school, it's essential to be in the habit of three things:
- Make an appointment
- Have your ID;
- Have your phone, especially if you are tardy, picking up, or returning a child to school, as we use an electronic form to record the child's return. You will access the form via a QR code scanned by your phone.
