Thank you Dr. Chism Band head band director & band staff for inspiring King College Prep Band program. "You guys were amazing" Andrew Lee Senior KCP Tuba player.
Carsyn Hayes "Senior IMHS President Percussion section Leader""
While talking, the snare drum section leader asked different questions about me and what it is like to be a section leader in high school. He then shared how Kentucky was not his first choice in school, but once he got there he loved it. The director and previous section leaders made it a welcoming space for a growing band. Kentucky State’s band director also spoke to some students and explained his wish to grow the program and provide opportunities to more students from King.

Pre Football Classic Friday September 20, 2024
Lindblom VS. King 48-0
Halftime show: Kentucky State University | Marching Band
The Thorobred Marching Band
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask King). They blew past the Lindblom Eagles, posting a 48-0 victory at home. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Jaguars just coasted through the last quarter.
King's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jamar Lewis, who rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Rozell Hampton was another key receiver, picking up 63 receiving yards and two touchdowns. -MAX PREP.
Congratulations to King College Football Team and A.D & Coach Assad Abdullah
Chicago Football Classic 2024
The Chicago Football Classic was a fun experience. Watching all the high school and middle school bands perform was fun and exciting. Both colleges KSU and MU marching bands performances was amazing. We had the pleasure of witnessing two awesome collegiate field shows from both sides of the field. We all enjoyed experiencing a college football game. The game was great to watch and experience too!. - Nevayah Moore KCP Senior Euphonium Player
