MT's purpose is to educate and empower students to become responsible citizens.
A Few Words From the Principal
We are always emphasizing to our students to be kind to one another. February is National Random Acts of Kindness month. We will be providing our students with opportunities to participate in several random acts of kindness events throughout the month. Please help us spread kindness, not only at MT, but throughout our community.
Here are some resources to help you assist your student in their pursuit of kindness:

Attendance Reminders
Some attendance reminders as we get 2nd Semester underway:
Please report all full-day absences (illness, appointment, etc.) and late arrivals due to morning appointments by 8:30 a.m. You may call the school attendance line at 913-422-5854 or use the online absence form. The school will call to follow-up with unreported absences after this time. Students arriving tardy after 7:55 must enter through the front office doors (you are not required to escort late students inside, but if your student is late due to an appointment, please report it to the office so their attendance is appropriately marked).
Students are allowed ten (10) days of absences per school year without an accompanying appointment note. (This includes illness, appointments, and “parent request” absences, which should be coordinated with the school in advance). Absences in excess of ten (10) without accompanying documentation will be considered unexcused. Missing a substantial portion of a day (three (3) or more class periods) shall be considered one "day." Unexcused absences are subject to the rules set forth by the Board of Education and Kansas Truancy Laws.
You are not required to notify the office in advance if you will be checking a student out during the school day for an appointment. Please ring the bell at the main office, present your ID, state your student's name and indicate you are checking them out, and complete the student check out inside and we will call your student from class at that time. Students will only be released to parent/guardians or emergency contacts listed in Skyward unless coordinated in advance with the school.
Backup Adobe Cloud Files Before February 3rd
This reminder may be relevant for some of our students who use Adobe:
On February 3rd, Adobe will discontinue one part of their online cloud file storage. This change will likely impact a small number of users (including some teachers and students).
If you use Adobe Creative Cloud products like Photoshop, Illustrator, or Premiere, we strongly recommend backing up your files to another storage service (e.g., OneDrive or Google Drive) before February 3rd.
While your files should still be stored locally on your computer, they will no longer be accessible in the cloud after this date. To avoid any risk of losing access to your files, please ensure they are backed up in advance.

Winter Social
Thank you to parents and staff who donated snacks or their time to the winter social! Events like these are not possible without your support. Students had a great time dancing to the DJ, playing in the gym, and hanging with friends over pizza, cotton candy, and snacks.
