Along with this weekly newsletter, social media is another way to see some of the amazing things happening at Edgerton.

You are also welcome to come see in person! Below is a lunch and recess schedule by grade level. All visitors sign in at the main office and then can join your child for lunch at any time. This is a great way to meet you child's friends. The cafeteria is a loud and happy place at Edgerton!

Any classroom visits during instructional time must be scheduled in advance with the teacher. We have several events during the school day. Some are school wide and some are grade level specific. Dates of those will be communicated closer to the time and/or by the teacher.

For those that like to get dates on their calendar, our big community events are:

• January 23 5:30-7:00 pm Edgerton Stories
• April 25 6:30-8:30 pm Bingo
• May 22 5:00-6:30 pm Edgerton Stories

Our first PTA meeting of the school year will be Tuesday, September 17 at 6:30 (either in the courtyard or the cafeteria). This is a great way to meet other families and get involved at school. All are welcome!

Stop by the school anytime between 4:00-6:00 pm on Wednesday, August 28. This is when you find out which teacher your child has. Come to meet teachers, see friends, drop off school supplies or pick up some supplies from community donations. There will be backpacks full of supplies organized by grade level in the gym. There will be some snacks too. It will be a fun night!

You will also be able to sign up for Fall conferences. Edgerton staff will be at tables by the front and back doors to help your family with this.

• Start time: Students may enter the school at 9:25 am. School starts at 9:35 am.
• Meals: Students will continue to use a pin number. Breakfast and lunch are FREE for all students again!
• Transportation: Busing information is mailed to home address. Safety of our students is top priority. It is very important that we know where each child goes at the end of the school day.
• This should be coming any day. I just checked my mail before sending to see if my son's bus stop info has come yet and it hasn't so please do not worry if you have not gotten yours yet. The transportation department works very hard to get routes set and ready for the first day.

Again this year you will get a magnet that looks like this calendar. It has no school days X-ed off and attendance line info on it. We have heard from families that this is helpful.

This after-school program is open to all 3rd-5th graders who identify as girls or gender non-conforming. The program is designed to teach girls about caring for themselves, their friendships, and their communities. Physical activity is woven into the program to teach healthy habits and life skills such as setting goals and managing emotions. The program will take place Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-5:30pm starting Tuesday, September 10th until Tuesday, November 12th with our Final 5K Celebration on Sunday, November 10th. At Edgerton, GOTR is in high demand by students and families. In order to host a team again this fall, we need at least 3 more coaches. Coaches do NOT need to be “runners.” We are seeking responsible, enthusiastic adults (of all genders!) with a commitment to preparing girls to reach their full potentials.
