WEDNESDAY EARLY DISMISSAL INPUT DEADLINE IS TONIGHT
We are considering a schedule change for the 2025-2026 school year that would replace weekly early dismissals on Wednesdays with one full day off per month dedicated to staff collaboration and professional development. Your input is essential to ensure this change benefits both students and staff.
If you have not filled out the survey yet, please take a few moments to share your thoughts! The deadline for the survey is Thursday, November 14, 2024
The data from the survey will help guide the development of the 25-26 School Calendar. The School Board will set the public hearing date for the 25-26 school calendar at the November 19 School Board meeting. Families/staff will have the draft calendar for review prior to the public hearing date. The Board is required to hold a public hearing for the school calendar, per Iowa Code. This allows for the Board to receive public input on the proposed calendar for the 2025-26 school year.
SPONSOR A FAMILY
Clear Creek Amana High School's Student Council helps families in need throughout the school year. One of the ways in which this happens is through our Sponsor a Family event. Last year, we were able to serve 80 families district wide during the winter season.
How can you help? Our main source of help is via monetary donations. Each dollar given is used to support families in need. If you are willing to donate to help this cause, please turn in donations no later than December 13, 2024. You can donate by check or at our CCA online payment site.
If donating by check, please make checks payable to:

HOLIDAY ASSISTANCE FOR FAMILIES
Clear Creek Amana High School's Student Council is excited to help this holiday season! If you are in need of gift support over the holiday season for your child or family, we will do our best to help. With respect to all families, your wishes and names will not be shared with any donors. There are limited spots for this wonderful opportunity. Interested families can fill out the HOLIDAY ASSISTANCE REQUEST FORM.
Although there are no guarantees for assistance, we hope to be able to assist all CCA families in need but want to address that there might not be the same assistance opportunities as in previous years. We appreciate your support and hope you understand the uncertain times.
Please contact Marissa Moore for questions at 319-545-2361 or email marissamoore@ccaschools.org.
Dr. Seymour's District Announcements
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS RECONSIDERATION COMMITTEE APPLICATION
The Instructional Materials Reconsideration Committee addresses formal requests for reconsideration of library and instructional materials in the Clear Creek Amana Community School District. The committee provides a context in which differences of opinion and possible selection errors may be examined openly. The main task of the committee is to make a recommendation to the Superintendent when a citizen makes a written complaint against a library book, classroom material, or other instructional resource. District policy, regulations and procedures are considered when studying the challenged materials.
The committee forwards their decision to the Superintendent who, in turn, makes the final decision. Complaints are considered and acted upon within thirty school days of receipt. All meetings are open to the public.

The Jensens are proud of Caitlin and believe she is a great role model for all kids. Because of their love for children and desire to impact the next generation, they hope this book inspires kids to believe their future can be greater than they imagine. Over 40,000 books have been donated to 2nd grade students in Iowa.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING ATTENDANCE THROUGH POWERSCHOOL
Parents may call the main office, email the building secretary, or report the absence through the PowerSchool parent portal by 8:30 am.
