Hello PCK Community,
On behalf of the entire staff at PCK, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to all who attended our recent Community Feedback Session on the PCK Strategic Plan. Your participation is not only deeply appreciated but essential in helping shape the blueprint that will guide our staff and administration as we work to craft the next 30 years of PCK’s growth and success.
Over the years, our school has built a strong foundation, one rooted in rigorous academic standards, a thriving sense of community, and retained exceptional staff who are the cornerstone of our success. This is the result of the close, collaborative relationship between our staff and families. This connection is what sets PCK apart from other schools, and it’s why your perspectives are invaluable to the development of this plan.
As we look toward the future, the success of PCK depends on the continued strength of our community—this partnership is what has allowed us to thrive, and it will be what propels us forward. We recognize that every individual holds unlimited potential, and it is through nurturing that potential—whether in our students, staff, or families—that we can unlock the full breadth of what we are capable of achieving. We are excited to see how your contributions will influence the direction of this plan and ensure that PCK’s next chapter becomes as impressive as its past.
Thank you for your time, your ideas, and your commitment to PCK.
Warm regards,
Dr. Weyman
We are excited to share that we have made our selections for the 2025 DCSD Apple Awards. These selections are based on the nominations we received from you, our families, who have shared so many positive stories about the profound impact our staff members have on students every day.
After careful consideration of these nominations, our administration has chosen Mrs. O’Connell as PCK’s Certified Representative and Mrs. Mares as PCK’s Classified Representative. Both of these outstanding individuals received overwhelming support from the PCK community for the strong connections they’ve made with current and past students. The heartfelt stories of their impact have been truly inspiring, and we are incredibly proud for them to represent PCK.
Apple Award winners will be announced in late March. Congratulations again to Mrs. O’Connell and Mrs. Mares for this well-deserved recognition.
We are pleased to present a new and fun event that combines our P.E. Kids Heart Challenge with our eighth grade student versus staff basketball game. We are calling this event Hoops for Hearts, which will raise awareness and funds for the American Heart Association as P.E.'s Kids Heart Challenge wraps up.
On Friday, March 7, students will have the opportunity to donate $2 in exchange for a full dress-down day, instead of wearing their PCK Spiritwear for Spirit Day. This donation will go directly to the American Heart Association.
Later that afternoon, our eighth grade students will face off in an exciting basketball game against our staff members, with our middle school students in attendance to cheer them on. We are thrilled to raise awareness for cardiovascular health, and we appreciate your support in helping us make a positive impact in our community.
Students should be picked up at their designated carpool times of 3:10, 3:20, or 3:30 p.m. We strongly encourage all families to consider registering for our Champions After Care program as a proactive measure in case unforeseen circumstances prevent timely pick-ups. To register, please use the button below.
As a reminder, if you plan to pick up your student before the end of the school day, we kindly ask that you do so by 2:45 p.m. This ensures our front office staff has sufficient time to retrieve your student and allows for the timely clearance of the carpool lane as we prepare for dismissal.
Our carpool takes all of us each day, and we greatly appreciate the cooperation of all our families in this matter, as it supports a smooth and efficient carpool process. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and orderly environment for all students and families.
Earlier this week, our third and fourth, as well as our fifth and sixth grade Battle of the Books teams, competed in the quarterfinals of the Parker tournament.
We are proud to announce that the third and fourth grade team defeated Cherokee Trail with a score of 46-43 and will advance to the semifinals to face Franktown on March 3.
Similarly, our fifth and sixth grade team also triumphed over Cherokee Trail with a score of 46-40, securing their spot in the semifinals against Iron Horse on March 3.
A huge congratulations to all of the students for their hard work and dedication. We wish them the best of luck as they move on to the semifinals and represent PCK.
We would like to inform our families that the Late Testing Lab will be cancelled on February 28, March 3, and March 5. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Students who normally attend the Late Testing Lab can be picked up at their usual carpool times on these days.
It's that time of year again! As we prepare for the upcoming CMAS testing in the month of April, we are reaching out for your support with snack donations to help keep our students energized and focused during their testing days.
Below, you will find a sign-up sheet for snack donations by grade level. If you're able to contribute, please sign up for the appropriate grade level, and when dropping off the snacks at the school, kindly mark the box with the grade level it’s intended for.
Thank you for your generosity as we help our students perform their best during this important time.
There are still available slots to rent the PCK Spirit Rock. This is a fun and meaningful way to celebrate a special occasion or send a message of support, while also helping fund our eighth grade class' graduation later this year.
All proceeds from the Spirit Rock rentals will directly benefit the eighth grade graduation, helping create a memorable celebration for our students.
If you’re interested in renting the Spirit Rock, please click the button below to secure your spot.
Registration is open for the PCK Spirit Camp (grades K-5) from March 24-26, 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. in the MS Commons. This year, the camp is extended to three days, giving campers extra time to perfect their routine, which will be showcased at the Boys Volleyball game on March 26. Click below to register.
The next SAC meeting is set for Tuesday, March 11 at 8:15 a.m. We will be reviewing the PCK 2025-26 budget proposal, as well as beginning the process of building our annual end of the year survey. We welcome your participation and input as we strive to enhance our school community.
As always, if you have any questions about the SAC or would like to raise any topics at the meeting, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at SAC@ckcs.net.
This week, we are excited to shine our Volunteer Spotlight on the amazing individuals who served as volunteer interviewers for our Ameritowne Interviews. The Ameritowne field trip provides our students with invaluable insight into various career paths and how they function in the real world.
To truly immerse students in this experience, our volunteers play a crucial role in creating authentic job interview scenarios. Their guidance helps prepare our students with the necessary skills to succeed in securing the career they aspire to. We are deeply grateful to these volunteers for their commitment to this tradition and supporting our students' professional development.
Thank you to all of these outstanding volunteers!
