Be Amazing! Building Our Story!
Happy Friday!
One more full week of school and then we have two 4 day weeks and one 3 day week left of the 2024-2025 school year. We continue to work hard every day and also try to have some fun. Please make sure to read the teacher newsletters for up to date information.
We have seen an increase in students bringing pop for lunch. Pop is not allowed int he lunchroom or the classrooms. Please help us by not sending pop (or anything in a can) to school with your child. Thanks for your help.
Have a great weekend.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Gram, Principal.
Group Chats
Do you ever check your child's phone? Do you look to see who and what they are texting? Cyber bullying is real.
We have seen and heard of many group chats amongst our students at CGE that are concerning and have started to cause problems at school. PLEASE check in with your child regularly regarding their cell phone/messaging usage and discuss the seriousness of cyber bullying with your child.
Multicultural Night at CGE - May 22 5:30-7:00pm
Today, your child should have brought home more information regarding World Culture Month at CGE. In May we will be highlighting our wonderful student diversity by inviting our students to create a project to show their unique heritage or culture and share with their class and have on display for our very first Multicultural night at CGE on May 22. Please see the handout sent home and the flyer below for more information.

Lunchroom Visitors
There will not be a sign up for lunch visitors in May. With so many field trips and other events happening across the school we will not be scheduling lunch visitors. Thanks and have a great May!
Birthday Treats
It has been a common practice to provide treats for the class in honor of a child’s birthday; however we are asking that NO EDIBLE TREATS be sent in to celebrate birthdays. We will make your child’s birthday special in the classroom without edible treats.
If you would like to send a little something to honor their day please consider an alternative birthday treat such as pencils or a book donated to the classroom. We ask that no edible treats be sent in due to varying allergy conditions and other issues related to edible treats in the classroom. Thank you for your help with following this new practice of celebrating birthdays in the classroom.
Volunteering at CGE
If you wish to volunteer at CGE you MUST HAVE A CURRENT BACKGROUND CHECK Completed. You can visit:
https://www.sowashco.org/get-involved/volunteer
Click on The Volunteer Process.
There is a volunteer application and a link to complete your background check. It is helpful to do this early in the year so you are set in case a volunteer opportunity arises such as field trip or helping at track and field event.
If you have had a current background check WITH THE DISTRICT in the past two years and have volunteered during that time you do not need to complete another one at this time. Unfortunately we cannot accept background checks from any other organization. You must have one on file through our district.
