Potential Position and Program Cuts in a Non Override Budget
At the request of the Select Board, MPS and all town departments have prepared a proposed non-override budget. This proposed non-override budget would result in significant cuts across MPS.
If a Level Services override vote on April 29, 2025 were to fail, MPS would need to cut 66 critical positions and many programs. The impact would be felt across the district in larger class sizes, limited availability of specialist classes, decreased services, loss of extracurriculars, athletics and more.
