TVEA is Growing our Collective Voice because of You!
You are one of the 104 New Members who have joined TVEA this year and we are so happy to have you join the ranks of the many professional educators in the Temecula Valley! TVEA is transforming quickly as 8% of membership is new this year. We are here for you, to support you with your needs and goals. We are you are settling in and getting accustomed to the culture of your school site. By now you should have had the opportunity to meet your TVEA Site Leader and we hope they are making themselves available to you for assistance, information and guidance!

CTA $300 Classroom Setup Grant
Do not wait, $300 available in minutes!
The $300 classroom grant for first time members is still in play.
Who is eligible?
There are three eligibility requirements:
• You must be a brand new Active Full-Time CTA Member in good standing who is a TK-14 classroom educator, including but not limited to virtual educators, special education educators, speech pathologists, physical education, etc.
• You must have joined CTA for the first time as a California educator within 12 months from your Employment Start Date.
• You must submit an application within 12 months from your Employment Start Date on or after June 1, 2023.
How to apply
1. You need to register the personal email used to sign up to CTA with the CTA Benefits page:

Looking to move over in the Salary Schedule?
Submit REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF COURSE WORK to your site administrator
*Per TVEA/TVUSD Article 9 – Professional Growth, Section 9.3.2.5:
“Six (6) of the required fifteen (15) units needed for column advancement must be taken from the following course content areas: Reading Strategies, Math, Technology, CLAD/SDAIE/BCLAD, Writing (Writing Strategies), Teaching Special Needs Students, Classroom Management and content specific to teaching assignment.
Free Units for salary advancement
CTA Members, through attending in-person or watching CTA Virtual Pass sessions, will be given the opportunity to accumulate the professional growth hours needed to qualify for university credit units with CSU, Chico. As a benefit to members, CTA will cover the $75/unit cost for up to SIX university credit units available.

CONFERENCE DESCRIPTION:
CTA’s New Educator Weekend (NEW) is a conference for new CTA members. This NEW conference is for educators in their first three years in the profession. The conference has everything that educators need to be successful in their first years of teaching, including sessions about classroom management, creating engaging classrooms, lesson plans and ideas, connecting with your union, student loan forgiveness information, member benefits, project grants and more.
Your experience at the New Educator Weekend is equal parts educational and transformational. You’ll learn new skills and find solutions to real-life challenges. You’ll leave the conference feeling inspired, motivated and with a knowledge of what you need to do to be even more successful on Monday morning in your classroom.
