Arrival & Dismissal
Pioneer Elementary (2024-2025)
Please Help Us Keep Students Safe
Each morning, many students are dropped off at school by their parent or guardian. With over 650 students, Pioneer is one of the largest elementary schools in the district. This means we have a high number of people walking on campus or driving through the parking lot in a short period of time.
To ensure school safety, only students and staff are allowed on the playground and in the gym during arrival and dismissal.
It is very important that we all follow the student arrival and dismissal safety rules. Our goal is to have a safe and efficient arrival and dismissal process for all students. Arrival and Dismissal will be slow during the first few weeks while everyone learns the procedures. However, we know this will improve in a few days! We ask for your patience with the staff and each other as we get back into school routines.
Please review the arrival and dismissal procedures below.
North Parking Lot
This parking lot is located off M St. SE & 22nd St. SE.
* Parking is only reserved for ECEAP, ECE, TK, Kindergarten, Office Visitors and Pioneer Staff only. See the picture to know where these groups can park.
* Parents of 1st-5th grade students must drive through the vehicle loop during arrival and dismissal. There is not enough space to accommodate all parent vehicles.
ECE, TK and Kindergarten will not have school the first few days so there will be less cars in the parking lot. However, 1st-5th grade families MUST use the vehicle loop for drop off and pick up.
The North Parking Lot is the only location where students can be dropped off and picked up in a vehicle.
- *** Do not park on M St. SE or K St. SE, and do not drop off or pick up students from these two areas. ***
- Parking in these areas creates unsafe situations for students, families and community members. These areas are designated as "no parking zones" by the City of Auburn.
The North Parking Lot is the only location where parents can drop off or pick up their child on foot. (see arrival and dismissal sections for details)
South Parking Lot
This parking lot is located off M St. SE & 24th St. SE.
This lot is designated as bus and staff parking only. With limited access for SLC.
Disabled Parking
Disabled parking spots are labeled in the north lot. Please only use these spots if you have a WA State approved disabled placard/sign for your vehicle.
