Spaulding High School
December Newsletter
Happy Holidays!
We have a lot to share and be proud of during this holiday season. Please take a look and help us celebrate the great things happening at Spaulding High School. Happy New Year!
Graduation for the Class of 2025
Spaulding High School Graduation will be Friday, June 6 at 6:00pm on the Hugo Bolin football field. New this year: We have a rain date for the following day, Saturday, June 7 at 10:00am.
Mayor Paul Callaghan inspires us to pay it forward!
As part of Mayor Callaghan's Choose Love initiative, our students have paired up with Rochester Police to help "pay it forward" to the residents in Rochester. We have given enough Dunkin Donuts gift cards for each officer to have a hot beverage and then another one for them to give to a resident that may be down on their luck. We hope this project may add a little holiday spirit to those who may need a pick me up!
AFJROTC Exceeds in all 5 catagories!
The Spaulding AFJROTC Cadets underwent their annual Headquarters Inspection on November 22nd. Regional Director Mitch Berger assessed the cadets in five major areas and they scored the highest rating possible of “Exceeds Standards” in all five areas. Mr. Berger commented that our cadets were the best he had seen this year and one of two of the best he had ever seen in his career!
Mr. Berger also recognized three cadets with the Top Performer Award due to their hard work preparing for the assessment. These cadets are Andrew Crawford, John Feirick, and Jazlyn Lewis.
Congratulation ROTC!
Another AFJROTC honor!
Congratulations to Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Dylan Gravallese who was selected to attend the AFJROTC Flight Academy this summer. Dylan will be matched with one of twelve aviation colleges/universities and earn his private pilot certificate over an intense eight week program. This is an all-expense paid scholarship worth $30,000. Well done Dylan!

We are painting a mural at the State House in Concord!
Just another example of the excellence in our art program... Our Art students won the New Hampshire Department of Education Mural competition. Congratulations to Jen Daly and her students Shannon Connelly, Addison Delaney, Cassily Gould and Arianna Malaquias! They are excited about the mural and look forward to seeing the completion by the end of January. Look for pictures of the final product in future newsletters. It is with great pride that these students are able to showcase their talents representing Spaulding and their community.
Our Raider Pantry
The new and improved Raider Pantry at Spaulding High School has become a vital resource for students and families in need. With expanded inventory, the pantry now offers a wider variety of nutritious food items and personal care products to support the well-being and academic success of the school community. Operated by dedicated volunteers and staff, the pantry ensures a welcoming and stigma-free environment where students can access essential items discreetly and free of charge.
Free Application Day- Seniors save thousands!
Seniors have the opportunity to apply to colleges in NH for free for one day in November. We are pleased to announce that 91 students participated with 293 applications sent. Our students saved over $6.550 that day!!
17 students selected to All State
On November 23, we had 29 Spaulding Music students audition for the NH All-State Festival and we are pleased to report that 17 of them were accepted into the choirs and band! This is very prestigious since schools compete from all over the state.
2 students move on to All Eastern!
We had 2 students selected for the even more prestigious All Eastern Honors Ensembles. These students were put up against students from all of New England to earn a spot in these honors ensembles. Only 6 singers from the state of New Hampshire were chosen, and Violet Nelson and Nicholas Kanelos, two SHS students, were among those chosen!
Dance Team!
On Friday, December 6th, the SHS Dance Team hosted their annual Holiday Showcase. Students choreographed pieces to festive songs and entertained a well attended audience. The Dance Team was joined by some special guests including faculty members on stage! Team captains Zil Thakar and Ellie Coombs led the team to a successful performance. The Dance Team hopes you'll join them for their Spring Showcase. New members will be welcome starting in January!
