Student Support for Health Career Students
Kūlia ma Kapi‘olani: The Native Hawaiian CTE Project
The goal of the program is assist Native Hawaiian students in CTE and STEM program to graduate and succeed in employment.
If you are an accepted student to the Health Science, EMS or Nursing programs and are of Native Hawaiian decent you may be eligible for these resources:
- Funding for experiential opportunities such as conferences and added training
- Stipends for unpaid internships, practicum and clinical experiences
- Support for licensure and certification
- Financial aid and scholarship application assistance
- Job readiness services and workshops
- Peer mentoring
- Tutoring
- Computer lab and laptop loans

The Future of Healthcare Training in Hawai'i
The UH System has significant health sciences programs that collectively play an essential role in educating Hawaiʻi’s health workforce and addressing the health challenges facing Hawaiʻi and the Pacific.
Kapi'olani Community College has just announced a 3-year funding grant to expand training opportunities through hybrid distance education for neighboring Islands.
