Students are offered one opportunity to take the SAT test for free through OEC. If students wish to take the the SAT again, or take the ACT, they must sign up for that on their own. Some schools are test test optional. However, some of the test optional schools may provide better scholarships for a higher test score. Please make sure to look into the schools that you plan on applying to in 13th grade.
High school students and their families/caregivers looking to secure more financial aid for college are encouraged to register for an informational webinar about the Michigan Achievement Scholarship, which is a new State of Michigan scholarship program expected to impact the majority of students in the Class of 2023 and beyond!

Ten of Michigan's 15 public universities have committed to joining the Michigan Assured Admissions Pact. Beginning with the class of 2024, MAAP ensures every Michigan high school graduate with a 3.0 GPA or higher will be admitted to participating universities. MAAP is a cross-institutional effort aimed at strengthening the high school to postsecondary education pipeline and making the college admissions process more efficient and transparent.
